@@petermuthui1 That's happened because of Americans, who made a giant strategic mistake, threatening, sanctioning, demonising and consequently pushing Russia on China's arms. Sanctioning had the opposite effect, making Russia able to become independent in several sectors, from food to army. They can produce the most by themselves now, and they can afford not to give a fuck to american sanctions. Well done Americans, keep up the good work!

American missile development, especially in the supersonic regime, has really been quite stagnant. We're still relying on Minuteman III (deployed in 1970) for a ground based deterrent, and those were only upgraded to solid state hardware a few years ago. American industry almost certainly can compete, but too much effort goes to the development of botched or just outright silly projects.

Interesting fact. The native surname of the chief designer of this missile system is Nepobedimy (Непобедимый, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergey_Nepobedimy ). The exact translation of this surname into English is Invincible. The boy was born. The boy learned the meaning of the surname that his father received from his grandfather and passed on to him. The boy decided that he needed to match this surname. The boy decided and the boy matched.) Second interesting fact. Young Sergey Nepobedimy (in 1945) received an engineering degree under the guidance of Professor Yuri Pobedonostsev (Юрий Победоносцев). And exact translation of the Professors native surname into English is something like Victorybringers.

Anyone? That is a short range missile good only for threatening your closest neighbors. I'm sure they love that personalized attention. You should comment on the fact that America does not point weapons at her neighbors; Mexico, Canada, South America, the Caribbean nations, or Europe, or Africa, or anyone who does not brag about the fact that they are our enemies, and points weapons at us. Ask yourself why........ There are only a few nations with this paranoid sickness, Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran. Four nations that threaten everyone around them like a rabid dog. Grow the hell up. We are far more likely to get hit with a big rock falling out of the sky than having any real reason to attack each other. There is also the UAP thing to worry about. We look pretty stupid pointing loaded weapons at each other while an alien race or races are flying around in craft we cannot catch.

The Iskander-M is a world class weapon to be recon with. This missile makes the U.S. Navy's Tomahawk cruise missile obsolete. Its going to be interesting to see the development of hypersonics and laser defense systems in parallel. Laser weapons systems with 100+ km range and MW power delivery will eventually render all missiles useless unless the missiles are used in saturation attacks.

The laser has a number of serious disadvantages. Rain, fog, low clouds, blizzard, etc. The energetic gluttony of a combat laser. The Russians have created a laser on a car chassis. This was not simply due to the required generator power.

@@gattmawer3030 Only the deployment of strategic warheads is monitored, but it matters little when a country can deploy 1,550 of them. Tactical weapons are not monitored, only the estimate cites that Russia has 1800 ready for use in durable stock and the US hundreds that are B61 gravity bombs. Monitoring does not include the stock of plutonium for weapons and uranium for weapons. This is a closely guarded secret that no international agency can go to check all estimates for the Russian side and the USA is just a close value with an uncertainty of more or less . In 2015 Russia declared 650 tonnes of weapon-grade uranium not included in weapons in the stock of military use sufficient for 40,625 1-stage warheads or 20,312 strategic 2-stage warheads. This coincides well with the 1250 tonnes of uranium for weapons that the USSR produced, with 500 tonnes eliminated in the Megaton Megawatts program. Russia has also declared 88 tonnes of weapon-grade plutonium in the military stock already discarding the 34 tonnes of weapon-level plutonium which I agree to eliminate along with another 34 tonnes of US both excess plutonium stock, a portion of these 88 tonnes of plutonium is in arms. enough plutonium for another 17,600 1-stage nuclear weapons or 8800 plutonium-based strategic 2-stage weapons. fissilematerials.org/publications/2015/12/global_fissile_material_report_7.html Not all Iskander-M missiles should be armed with 10 kiloton tactical warheads, only a few.

Why am I mentioning this? Because of the lies and false claims before the IMF treaty was broken (teared apart) by the Deep State and the Pentagon pushing Trump to rip it apart, but not before they pulled a false claim of Russia has violated the agreement, only to find out that the US has already tested a new one! So in fact they were breaking the deal hidden and in secret and in front the CIA was pushing a narrative through the MSMedia and blaming the Russians like IN EVERY OTHER CASE TO THIS DAY! So, let's see, will Russia believe any western country anymore without having 100% guarantees? No, and that's why it's guaranteed a reassuring and comforting thing to have systems like this one!

I give you the following scenario. Poland, baltics, Romania armed with US weaponry joins the war in Ukraine in order to claim their territorial desires. Russia strikes them with Iskanders with tactical nuclear warheads and now stands up the question do US will destroy the World by initiating global nuclear war with strategic missiles or will just blow up the news on how evil the russians are and will try to sell more weapons, give more loans and sell more merch, goods and fuels to the destroyed countries? And this is the purpose of those missiles- local conflicts with non nuclear countries that want to get it. For US and destruction of the World those are not the answer.

Russia needs like 10 more years to build up and are pretending this is for NATO/USA as to trick the CCP/China. Putin dislikes the USA but knows he has zero chance against 30 nato countries which include all the highest tech countries/planes/etc. However, Putin knows the US wont invade Russia but knows China will try (and has been trying with india and a few other bordering states. Add to the fact the CCP has already stated some Russian land is there it is a matter of time. China has like the 1/5th of equipment and most old stuff and wouldn't have a chance against the US let alone NATO so they will try to pick a fight with Russia which is closer to their level (but still far away from being equal as China military is worst but China has money and man power 5x Russia so they could build up and get close). Of course this is all stupid because starting a war will likely result in nukes and everyone dying on Earth.
