Honestly, the Isley Brothers go back farther than that. They first song to ever chart was actually 1959 (shout) And their first major hit was twist & shout 1962 The first song to crack the top 20# pop charts number 2# R&B As a 5 year old, I remember it's your thing. As the first Isley brothers song, I can recall That was 1969. But you are right. They dominated the 70s and recreated their self in the 80s with more of a synthesizer sound. Don’t you just love it when another generation recognizes good music from your era. When my granddaughter was around that age, she would ask for Phyllis Hyman’s Meet Me On the Moon or Etta James’ ‘Something’s Got Ahold of Me’.
