This is why The Isleys are the absolute best ever Soul Funk fusion rock and roll
@EggkFarm Жыл бұрын
Ernie Isley...without a doubt one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I love how he always changed it up live to match the energy of the performance, rather than sticking to what he did on the record. Everytime he plays you feel the emotion, the ending solo of this song is one of his greatest and he sounds fantastic here, adding in tons of flair. I love the studio version but this up-tempo version is irresistible. One of Marvin Isley's best basslines, it fits the song perfectly. This song has all the hallmarks of Chris Jasper's writing, beautiful melody and keyboard tones to set the atmosphere. What a magic line-up!

It's criminal how the Isleys fell out with Jasper. Maybe when Kelly divorced his sister it pushed left.

ISLEY BROTHERS FAN 4 LIFE. MY NIGGAS 4 EVER PLAY ON PLAYAS 4 REAL. These players are the AMBASSADORS OF LOVE MUSIC AND FUNK. This song reminds me of a particular Day in 1980 when this joint came out. I’ll never forget this moment I was having. Picture this Mother’s Day May 11th, 1980. The NBA FINALS were on. THE PHILADELPHIA 76ers VS. THE LA LAKERS. MY Main Man 👨 Julius “DR. J” ERVING From the right wing, cuffed the basketball, went baseline in midair to the left flipped the ball into the rim on a reverse layup. Doc took the whole Damn team to the hole. Man 👨 that Move was EPIC. That SONG And THAT MOVIE sends me reeling❤️❤️❤️❤️👀🙏. You had to be there DAMN such Memories 💰💰💰 in the bag

The live version makes a soul funky ballroom slow jam olde but goodie come completely to life. The lead electric guitar by Ernest Isley; the background vocals given by O'Kelly, Rudolph, and Vernon Isley giving the lead singer the support of linebackers on the football field to their quarterback [Midnight Sky]; the bomb dropping subwoofing bass drilled by Marvin Isley; the keys aligned in perfect harmony by Chris topher Jasper; George Moreland and Everett Collins knocking the rhythm of the notes to the drumline together; Carl Porter on the congas calling for the rains to pour out of heaven; Truman Thomas telling the truth on the organ... Ronnie Isley giving sweet enchanted soul saving lines with the lyrics setting the mood of the romance and rekindling the fire of the song with his energy making the experience of the brautiful ballad last forever. Blessed assurance knowing that these seven soulful song singers will "Always... come back to you." This love... that love, is ETERNAL!

With the type R & B sound the Isleys had Ernie is the baddest guitarist in The World only because he learned From the very Best JIMI HENDRIX. This track is the ultimate and Im glad to have seen it live. All Praises Be to Allah..

Nope, I asked Ernie personally and he said Hendrix never taught him anything on guitar. When Hendrix was in the band, he was playing baseball as a kid, not the guitar.
