Also, here is already a melee focused extremis (the scarab occult terminator with a power sword), but I too think having melee majoris enemies (be they chaos marines or Tzeentchian daemons) would benefit the experience of fighting against chaos.

Class-specific Queueing is a huge thing for me. I've tried and failed due to class clashes over 5 games in a row on multiple occasions when trying to play a specific class. The match making is completely broken as it is now.

Let block weapons block melee red attacks. It can't perfect parry, but suddenly it has the ability to let you stand your ground even against ultra heavy hits that no other weapon can. And fits the idea of being able to block.

I feel like this flys in the face of the core concept. Some things are unblockable. A tyrant or carnifex charge being blocked? It's a bit much. Taking a block weapon means you're primarily dodging and you get big stats. Doesn't really feel like it needs more time spent on it.

I agree with this and to expand on your idea: If we join a game in progress on a certain class, either tell us before we enter so we can set up properly OR, at least, let us choose loadout on another class. Maybe I want to level my heavy buy if a heavy is there, I don't mind but I'd like to level a certain weapon on tactical but then have to wait for loadout swap point

An issue that needs to be addressed in PvE is enemies being able to call for reinforcements while in unreachable positions. Just the other week I was doing the end event on Ballistic engine, and while all three of us were fighting by the bridge with the ammo crate and main console, I witnessed a Tyranid warrior call reinforcements from UNDERNEATH THE SAME BRIDGE. We literally had no way to run far enough to the side to get an angle on him before he finished his call. I feel an easy fix would be to make it so that enemies need to be within a certain proximity of at least one player AND maintain line of sight on that same player for a few seconds before they can call for reinforcements. Just make the proximity check generous so that we can still have the challenge of dealing with an enemy in the rear lines calling for reinforcements while the squad is stuck in dealing with melee enemies.

This is a good train of thought, but I think a better fix is for warriors and rubric marines to only make the call on within the playable area. Proximity would make it too easy and would not reaolve this issue if they are close but impossible to stop.

Tweaks to the AI director, especially in private solo games. Bots don't do jack to help and even on Average difficulty, you can get stuck in one area fighting wave after wave because you can't clear fast enough. Swarmed with 10+ Majoris nids getting stunned locked on anything less than substantial isn't acceptable.

yeah they are still pretty useless. I played a round with a buddy the other day and the vanguard only killed 5 enemies the entire round lol. I wish it would put your perks on the bots. Say Im playing with a heavy bot it would be cool if the bot took on the perks of my lvl 25 heavy. Atleast that way they are somewhat useful. Playing a solo lethal and having two lvl 1 bots that are useless kinda sucks.

totally agree on the dodge/parry indicator thing. it should be on the Game to supply reliable cues, and on the player to have the reflexes to react to them. Having bad cues like here is NOT a Skill Issue, it's a UI Issue. And it gets compounded by the fact that block animation-cancels, but dodge does not. so i'll hear the sound, block on reflex, immidiately see that i'd need to dodge instead, but now i'm locked in the block and get my face punched in. My reflexes would absolutely allow me to react a second time before it would be too late, but i've already reacted and am now locked into the wrong reaction. That is not a Player Issue, that is bad design by the game. Also if you're in the middle of a big swing with a slow weapon, you could cancel that with block, but for an unblockable you're just fucked because dodge doesn't cancel your attack. So yeah, they NEED to change the sound cue. And hey, idea: why not give Block-Weapons the added Bonus of animation-cancel on dodge? That might be the defensive utility the Block weapons need to gain parity with fencing.

A few tweaks I'd love to see. 1. Fix the rubric marine flamer aoe attack. It seems to either be just too large or just too fast to dodge reliably. 2. Shoulder pauldron decals. If we can play deathwatch, then we should be able to display our chapters on the right pauldron. 3. Basically, everything said about block weapons. We should be able to tell a big difference from block to fencing without just not being able to parry. 4. Adding a stun state to the meele focused terminus enemies. Having an assault, vanguard, and bulwark in a team should still be able to take on a carnifex. Some stuff I'd love to see added 1. Another rubric marine type that is more meele focused like the tyranid warriors. Just having two types seems odd for a space marine legion. 2. Pink or blue horrors, screamers, and flamers of tzeench (more demons from space hell please!) 3. Generally more customization options, i.e., lens color or as mentioned pauldron logos. EDIT: Through a mod, it's revealed how the tzangor shaman will play, and it's a meele focused majoris!

Some good points there. On 4., I generally bait out charges from the carnifex so that I can dodge, followed by gun strikes. I see your point about variety in choice of gameplay, but I guess some strategies are more skill specific than others, leading to me looking for the simplest way through 😄 And on the melee rubric marine thing, I agree that a more melee (and maybe less ranged) chaos majoris would be cool. Though I may've completely missed your point...apologies if that's the case!

I think if they made the AI on Rubric marines so that they were more likely to attack you in melee, like the ranged tyranid warriors do, it would help immensely without the need to add an entire new weapon/enemy type. The whole point of engaging a ranged enemy in melee is to stop them from firing. The current Rubric Marine AI is 99% more likely to just teleport when they get engaged in melee and keep firing. Just feels off when in a tyranid operation you see a venom cannon and vanguard, assault or whoever will jump them to stop them firing. Chaos? Let me jump that Marine with the plasma... and he's gone teleported up onto a platform still firing away.

There are a few things about Chaos that break the fun that we have with Tyranids: 1) Rubric marines do not telegraph their melee attacks very well. It is VERY difficult to tell when a melee attack is coming. Their eyes lighting up just enough because they will shoot you even while you are punching them in the face! Warriors don't do that! When Warriors melee it is very easy to see it coming. Rubric need to do that too 2) When a Warrior dies, several gaunts around it die too. Chaos does not do that. 3) Demons with the shields are a**holes. It should be easier to break their blocks. 4) Rubric marines teleport too far and too often. I shouldn't have to chase one across the map to finish it off.

Matchmaking with squads that already have someone playing the specific class I have equipped has been a big one for me. Edit: I also would prefer not level locking the difficulties personally. I’m aware this is niche, but I have already gotten everything in the game as far as max level, survivor cosmetics, all the heraldry cosmetics etc etc, and a lot of the fun for me now that I dont have that form of progression anymore is to match up with random people and help them either level up or get the survivor cosmetics. Other people’s progression has become my progression lol.

Yea no, I don’t mind helping randoms when they are doing something that makes sense for the level they are currently at, but the other day I queued up TWICE with a dude trying to play a Lethal mission with a level 10 Bulwark with a green sword… obviously we failed. I considered that very selfish and disrespectful, to queue up with such a weak character and just expect to get carried on the newest highest difficulty in the game, when other people with their maxed out characters are struggling to complete them. Not to mention the game doesn’t reward you anything at all for failing, so you are pretty much just wasting peoples time by doing that.

I agree with almost everything u mentioned, but if I could only pick one problem to solve it would be changing the sound for an unblock-able attack. One thing I would add is an immunity frame for gun strikes too because so many times I perfect parry and gun-strike a guy, only to get smacked by another Majoris while locked in an animation I cannot cancel. Happens to me all the time as I main Bulwark and am always in the thick of it.

Here is something small I would like. Ranged enemies being forced into melee when we are in melee with them. This is a table top thing as well only melee weapons and pistols in cc. If I get into melee with a Warrior why can it unload its devourer into my chest unchallenged. This is especially annoying in lethal where a Warrior or Rubic can become enraged and cannot be stunned so there is nothing I can do to stop it from mag dumping into my poor assault swinging his chainsword with all his might.

My biggest issue is how painful leveling weapons is They should x2 your exp for weapons when your class and all other weapons are maxed out Another annoyance , my armor datas are 0 0 20 at all times , every single one is wasted until i unlock a new weapon tier every 4 missions costing me like 3 out of the 8 i get Just give me an extra exp bonus or AT LEAST store them as lower tiers

Which, I know in turn will get folk crying about how I'm "undergeared". For me and my friends playing, the hardest thing for us was when none of us had an artificer weapon yet and then going from average to substantial. That difficulty jump was rough cause we just didn't do enough damage, and so we failed a number of times. I just queued with randoms when i jumped up to ruthless and i guess i got lucky so my first attempt was a success so i immediately was able to get my first relic weapon after my first ruthless run. I tend to play very aggressive and get in to melee and rush large groups regardless of which class I'm playing, except heavy that is. This tends to keep me running strong easily as I'm really pretty dang potent in melee and wound end up getting top melee damage even when playing as a tactical when one of my friends is playing an assault or bulwark. The only time i trend to die doing this strategy is if there is just an extreme amount of enemies that i can't rush down and the cup damage is just eating my armor and health faster than i can keep my armor refill flowing. Especially when the game decides it wants to spawn 6 or more snipers and 6 of the tyranids that shoot the bramble/briars all over the fight area to the point that the entire fight arena is covered in briars and then the snipers are shooting at you from 6 different angles. The briar spam is just out of contol as well as the zeanthrhope spam chance. I see at least 2 zeanthrope pairs every game i play, not to mention the neurothrope seeming to have about a 75% spam chance over the carnifex. Especially on termination.

For the bramble briars things to keep the spam under control I run the chains word and when I'm surrounded I try and make sure I do a stomp and it clears my area around me allowing me to chase down the snipers

Same here. I picked up Assault as my first class, and even when I’m playing something like Tactical, I end up playing it like Assault because it’s really fun to go deep into melee and become the Emperor’s strongest glue-sniffing Doom Slayer! I have enough of an idea of when attacks are going to come in from behind me when I’m surrounded, and as soon as I hear that sound, I flip around and parry, only to find that that was a lashwhip that yanked me out of the horde or a Lictor that sprang out from the bushes. It really doesn’t help that the directional indicators look kinda weird when they’re coming from the sides or behind, so it’s hard to see them well enough to register that that’s an orange arrow and not some weird particle effect. Would help with the Hive Tyrant too, I’ve eaten a lot of scything talons because I parried an attack, then heard the sound and immediately parried again.

I adore this game, I waited 13 years for it - I’m not the best player and I don’t have a lot of time, but certain small aspects really frustrate me and make it hard to enjoy sometimes - Solo playing PvE is so much harder than it needs to be. From the get-go they said it will be solo player friendly, but it’s not. Even playing with one other person makes the world of difference, which I understand - but they advertised it as Solo friendly. I don’t want to deal with people speed running, ignoring gene seed, armoury data, stims and relics, and then constantly dying and I have to go and revive them, and lose all of my armour and health because of it. I like solo play, sue me - Adding to this game not being solo friendly, why can you not respawn when playing solo? If this is a mechanic of the game, fine - but do not show me the respawn screen, count down from 60 to 50, and then make me fail - this is so unnecessarily infuriating - The bots are useless. Give them random perks equivalent to your level / lowest level in party, and make them engage in certain objectives (with fair limitations as to not do it all for you) - for example; adding the bombs to the bridge in Decapitation, standing by the train in Atreus, defending the energy sources in Inferno, charging up the lascannons in Termination, etc etc - Change audio cue for non parry able attacks, I hear the shing and I parry, then I lose all my armour. Not fun, very frustrating - Maybe it’s just me but Zoanthropes still seem way too difficult especially in lower difficulties, just not fun - I’d rather deal with a Carnifex or a Neurothrope - Why is average harder than substantial? The jump up from minimal had me fighting for my life, so out of curiosity I tried substantial and it was fine? - Fix the spawn issues in PvP, far too many heavies camping in spawn easily killing you a bunch of times in a row before the rally point changes. There needs to be some kind of ACTUAL spawn protection, unbelievable this wasn’t given more thought - Would love the option to see your character with their weapons while you’re customising them like in the first game. It’s there for Titus in the campaign Armoury Hall! Why not PvE and PvP? - More slots for custom armour and chapter slots, 4 is not enough! - UX / UI is quite shit and has a lot of weird quirks that create a lot of cognitive dissonance - one example is overwriting custom chapter sets, but not armour sets? Also the cursor is too slow on console and randomly slows down, painful to use

Yeah, it would help with getting through the difficulty gates. I think a lot of people need purple gear to take on Substantial, but you can't get purple gear until you beat Substantial. It's a bit of a catch 22, and being able to cash in lower tier armory data for the next highest level could help get around this, even if it cost a lot.

The best way you can ad clear is by targeting majoris monsters over minoris ones. Though if you're playing an ad clear guy like heavy, then ad clear makes sense and helps out. As long as ad clears not your main focus. Clear some out and help melt the majoris and higher threats.

I am sure you were just throwing an off-the-cuff example, but at 17:30 the option you gave for the "5 or 10% more melee damage against Majoris level enemies" would be another nothingburger pick like "any use of the jump pack reloads the ranged weapon". Perks have to be equally impactful, *and* have to have enough impact that they actually do something noticeable in the game. That small of a damage increase *might* save you a single hit on a Majoris enemy, that you already need to hit a dozen times with a chainsword to bring to execute. Not to mention, it would just be straight up worse than the Vanguard's "15% more melee damage" team perk that applies to everything, and that perk isn't even best in slot. That being said, I 100% agree with the premise that perks (both weapon and class) need a heavy overhaul because right now, most classes and weapons have one viable choice (with a few exceptions), while the rest are just useless or ineffective. Things like "when you have full armor, melee damage increases by 10%" should have never made it to release. Another thing that I haven't seen mentioned but I think should be looked at is something Saber did in World War Z but for some reason did not do in Space Marine 2, something called core perks. Basically, instead of unlocking perks how we do now (left to right, top to bottom), they did it the way I believe you mentioned in another video, unlocking from top to bottom in a row, and left to right across all rows. In addition to this, each class had a perk at 10th, 20th, and 30th level that was just unlocked when you got to it, but it was the only thing in the row; it was basically a class passive that you unlocked for hitting certain levels in the class. Some class perks are so obviously the best possible perk you could pick in that row, like Assault's "non-finisher gun strikes also restore armor" or Vanguard's "melee kills of majoris level or higher enemies restore 10% health", those should be something that just permanently becomes park of your class kit when you hit a certain level, like those core perks from World War Z.

What I want to be fixed more than anything right now is how buggy gun-strikes can be. If I use shield bash, then go for power style attack on power sword, it opens up another gun-strike. However I want to cash in on my first gun-strike from before, and because the game tries to prioritize the new gun-strike, even though I’m trying to cash in on the first one, the game chooses neither of them and it completely kills the potential flow of my Bulwark. It’s really the top change I would want for over everything else as of right now.

Along with this I would also like to see the ability to keep my plasma pistol charged up in between dodges. If you watch closely during the attempt of this, you can almost see how the game WANTS you to do this. Because after a dodge animation when you aim in to recharge you plasma pistol, it’s still lit up blue before you get the new charge up animation. If this game continues to increase in difficulty, I think we should also be able to utilize high execution mechanics like this to power through the levels. As the game is now I still have fun, but if I was in that studio this is something I’d pitch at the meeting table with two boxes of a dozen Dunkin’ Donuts, just to ensure it happens.

The one thing I'd add to this is that with certain classes, like the heavy, having different weapon loadouts ready to change to doesn't mix well with your perks, if you're perking for melta bonusses, then switching to your heavy boltgun is just going to not make those perks have any use anymore. I'd love to be able to setup multiple perk choices which I can switch to within a mission.

Couldn't even be bothered to have a lobby shuffler, so when one team is inevitably dominating the other, you will either keep dominating, with nothing to do, or keep getting dominated with not much you can do, forever, or at least until you leave, for which you'll have to wait through 3-4 loading screens, then sit through another 1-3 loading screens if you want in another game. The fact that the battlebarge needs to reload when you join or get kicked from a party is absurd.

For me: Fix the loading screens. This is the only game I play where there are so many and they are so long, even on SSD. It's just frustrating and makes for a lot of wasted time. Add to that fact that you may not have a successful game launch with the host you join, and you just create lack of "jump in and play."

@ Eshin grey and liberator gold for the chest and left pauldron emblem. I used the castlellans of the rift icon but made everything transparent except for the skull. Use silver for the tertiary color on the pauldrons. Fire support icon on the right pauldron in white scar but make the numerals transparent. Watch company secundus on the right knee in iron hands steel or you could use abaddon black but I found that too glossy. Bolt carbine is the closest thing to the bolters they used and sadly cannot use the tac knife 😖

Difficulty- if I join your ruthless and I don't have a character over level 15 available (like someone already chose it), put me in a lobby where I can play all of my 15+ classes Edit: 100% on board with changing some sound que's. Unblockable 100% and chaos/tyranids shouldn't have the same reinforcement call sound either. And let me dodge out of heavy stance. Assault needs better mobility or an extra jetpack use or give me a better reason to use a jetpack dash, let me spin like a violent tornado of death

Zoanthropes and neurothropes are the single worst enemy for this game. 9/10 of my deaths are due to these guys. Getting hit through walls. Stunlocked to death by orbs. The laser beam is straight up undodgable on high ping matches. Half the classes have no counter outside of grenade Rng

This isn't necessarily a gameplay issue, but it is an issue I've struggled quite a bit. When someone joins my Battle Barge lobby and they have the same class as me, 7 times out of 10 they will leave before I have a chance to change my class or say anything. I have also been kicked from BB lobbies because I dared to pick a same class as someone already had and didn't even get a change to change my class. I personally don't understand where this behaviour comes from and why so many people are like that. Edit after video: I absolutely agree on the different sound cues, I have 100% same issue with the didnge attacks xD. Monkey hear monkey do. The server issues I think are the biggest problem that needs fixing asap. The loading screens take a serious chunk from the playtime.

I'm guilty of the former, not the latter. I do it much less now that I have a few classes maxed tho. My experience has never been someone volunteering to switch class, so I don't often stick around, usually it's either switch or kick. Unfair for solo matchmaking and when trying to lvl a class. Hard to get good at one in particular when your repeatedly expected to switch.

about the leaving right away, i might have an explanation having been on the other side. i was trying to level up my tactical and got matched to several games in a row that were either already in progress (with someone playing tactical) or people unwilling to switch (including myself, since i wanted to level up tactical). also, i usually dont want to inconvinience/press someone into switching class, since they might be in the same situation as me. therefore i started to wait only a view seconds before leaving, if someone had the same class as me. and those view seconds decreased with each missmatched game, probably even to a 'not so reasonable' point :) kicking someone before giving the chance to change class is defenitively not cool though. i can understand a kick if both players are stubborn, in which case i'd be in favour of 'first come first serve', but not right away...

I mean I will say I've started a lobby as an assault and have some join as assault and just stare at me for like 5-10 minutes. I did kick him, sucks more if the standoff is happening between others. These scenarios 90% of the time end with one leaving, so while I try not to kick/dip I can get it.

I had a game yesterday that perfectly highlights your first point. They were a level 3 sniper in a lethal run on extermination. He provided nearly nothing and stole several full health bars of execution healing from me. Just spamming the execute button at every opportunity. Was not a fun boi to carry

My brother and I had that happen. We kicked him since his sniper rifle was at best a green. So he was basically doing nothing against the higher enemies. So we didn’t want to be bothered carrying him especially since it was on the hive tyrant mission

I dunno if it really matters, and as time goes on there's going to be less and less new players to really matter anyway. I played a game last night where a high level sniper kept stealing my executes and picking up all the stim packs. We ended up losing because me and the other guy died over and over from not being able to recover health in melee and then eventually the sniper got overwhelmed while waiting for us to respawn. Game literally would have gone smoother if we only ran the mission with 2 of us. Sniper probably thought he was a bloody hero because he had the highest damage at the end, but him stealing the executes and stims is why we lost. So you can have bad team problems regardless of the level of the other players.

Omg yes filling up a weapon tier doesn't give you an extra point to spend which is so dumb. Why cap your PVE skill tree? Whats another 3 points on a weapon when your perks aren't that OP and if it is just slightly nerf the perk but I'm sure people would love to have more points to spend and feel strong. Make enemies slightly stronger to accommodate if it's that much of a power difference.

The people looking to get carried through for easy fast XP in higher difficulties are the worst. Like I know, they notice the difference in their survivability and damage. Sometimes, it takes like 20 minutes to find a proper team. Maybe more if they quit midway through the match. It's like, "F it. I'll just watch netflix for my last hour before I need to go to bed."

I wouldn't say melee needs a flat damage buff, but I do think it needs a stagger buff. You should not be able to be smacking the face of a Majoris with a power hammer just to have it decide, "oh, I'm gonna do an unblockable attack right now so you have to stop your combo!" despite the fact that you are wailing away at it. That is absolute BS.

Here's something nobody's talking about the 1000 sons.The combat with them is boring and stupid.They have made a Melee, mostly focused game and you have enemies who are a range focused (Chaos). The chaos enemies should be just like the tyrannids. Where you have some melee and some ranged. Not mostly ranged in a game that is designed mostly around melee combat.

Fencing Weapons = Loose more of their cleave and switch from "All purpose" to more single target damage dealing (more than it already is). Balance = Move to where Fencing is in stats with the reduced parry window. Block = All heavy attacks/charge attacks become uninterruptable from blue parry attacks (red attacks still stagger), increase damage and cleave by a percentage of their current stats at every tier. This makes the weapons serve an actual purpose. Fencing is your Dualist weapon, it's literally the name. Your Balanced should be that middle ground, it can do everything decently but can't dual like a fencing, and can't obliterate like a block. Then your Block should be the wall, innate synergies with various classes and abilities for resisting knock back, combined with heavy crowd control and the ability to actually say "FOR THE EMPRIOR" instead of being slammed by blue attacks when trying to charge the thunder hammer or switch blade styles mid fight with the power sword. Would it be broken? Sure, but what is the point of having a skill that "makes you uninterruptable" when a blue attack force staggers if you fail to parry.

Improved interface, arrows or color changes to your companions' names so it's easier to keep track of where everyone are. Show when perks are in cooldown. And for god's sake, let us customize controller buttons on PC. Not just pre-made layouts. The most basic of basic things. Being able to make perk layouts that you can switch at weapon racks in case you want to switch weapons.

Gun strikes were changed because the game was way too easy when you were invincible during the animation. It’s not really a challenge when there’s multiple ways to just avoid damage even when completely surrounded. I advocate for this change remaining because there are plenty of ways to avoid taking damage

Risk/reward. It's fast and at range. Dont GS when getting mobbed. They are also easier to get than regular executes, so there should be some counter balance to that. And it's already been tested that you do get damage reduction during GS.

The game has problems for sure but what I'd really like to see is an FOV slider since the camera is far too close to everything that's happening and it would alleviate the Marines looking so short and fat. I'd also like to see the speed of the Marines increased so they actually sprint instead of jog. On the customization side I'd like to see the ability to place decals where ever I'd like for example not locking certain ones to certain shoulders, the ability to turn off purity seals on parts of armour and every colour being usable on every armour part instead of primary secondary and tertiary.

Also why do my heavy attacks with the chain sword not interrupt attacks from the Majoris enemies? When a Majoris nid is mid swing and I use the kick combo with the chainsword while he is mid swing he completely ignores it and hits me anyway. What is the point of having the interrupt if it doesn't interrupt?

I think the best idea I heard during your video was the additional weapon mastery point for getting weapons to fully max exp. I have all my weapons to relic tier, but most of them I stopped using once I got that completed. Having a reason, other than the potential for another tier down the road, to fully level out each weapon for that last mastery point is brilliant!! 100% lets GO!!

On top of this, I'd love to see the Power Sword and Plasma Pistol be added to the Assault Marine. It just makes no sense that the classes that can ONLY do melee would not have access to all of the melee and sidearms given what you give up on the primary front. Either that or give it the option for the twin bolt pistols/twin plasma pistols as a primary, and a Accelerator autocannon, so you can play as a traditional assault melee marine, or a hovering fire support platform, similar to the Suppressors or Inceptors. I know those are technically different classes and that they use alternate armor types, but I still think it would make the Assault a more interesting class pick beyond just unga bunga & throw yourself at the largest horde of enemies, die in 3 seconds and then get mad at your allies for not "supporting" you.

You're technically a sergeant by your equipment selection choices, and they can use power swords and plasma pistols. It is odd that they can't use them here. The normal guys are stuck with chainsword only and even them one in a squad can use a plasma pistol. In Kill Team I'm pretty sure it's the same except they can have primaries too.

The biggest issue that just caused me to waste 40 min is. Taking damage whilst in an activate animation and not be able to stop it or cancel or move while in it. Just played mission 7 right at the end had 1 shot to take on the Titan and died trying to activate the cannons and they glitched out and couldn't be activated.

I don't know if anyone else would agree, but I would super love an FOV slider. Melee can be pretty cringe when you get knocked out of your rythym from a whip attack that would've been on screen if you could've increased your FOV. It's really not the end of the world that it's not there, but it would be a huge quality if life change.

100% melee feels terrible in this game in the higher levels. Relic power sword heavy or light takes around 15 hits to kill 1 majoris enemy while they teleport away and while being shot at. If not for Defensive Mastery perk bulwark would be awful to play as and still ur just parrying parrying parrying.. even the minoris tank the thammer like nothing

Keep preaching! I love this game, and simply just enjoy it! Yes there are avenues that can be improved upon in the game. I know the devs are listening and watching. This game will be getting better. Great video again!

What do you mean "you can't just melee a carnifex"? This is the second best option after plasma guns) Trying to shoot from anything else is just an ammo waste... Also I would like to see melee weapons buff, but I completely disagree that they desperately need it. Assault can easily have 15-20k melee damage in any mission. Bulwark with any weapon can have 13-18k damage and same amount range damage (because of how strong the plasma pistol is). Knife nukes majors and bosses, it does great single target damage. Sniper with +100% melee damage perk can nearly oneshot a major. I just can't call melee weapons underwhelming, because numbers don't lie.

Ask the kettle damage is on minoris not majoris though. Fighting majoris can take a long time if you're not getting gun strikes.

@richfrancis5251 only with a chainsword. Other weapons have strong heavy attacks that for the most part make a major red in 2-4 hits.

I just want to be able to change the keybind for the Gunstrike, I can't tell you how many times I died because I want to fire a Melta Rifle into a crowd without ADSing and I get locked into a Gunstrike instead

You select your level 25 character, select a mission, turns out you are joining someone else's game and the role you've selected is already taken. Then you are forced to select a different class which may likely be underleveled. It should not be possible to join a game where the selected class is already taken.

One thing i would ABSOLUTELY love is seeing the difference to the stats when I equip certain perks. like if I get 3 +5% melee damage bonuses i want to see where the damage is now, etc.

I think in terms of public half the problem is that so many players are just really bad. I play with 25's all the time that are terrible. I can solo Ruthless with ease yet when I play with randoms it's a struggle at times.

That would be me lol. I have two at level 25 but I'm just not that good at the game. But I also don't play on the high levels. My problem is I can't get the high level weapons unless I play the high level missions.

Tbf, sometimes you're just "off" and get wall banged by a batch of majoris. I usually put the game down and try again later. My Feng Shui was off or something.

It seems like a lot of people are complaining about carrying low-level players through the higher difficulties. I think the problem is that the higher-level weapons are locked behind the higher difficulties, which really hinders a lot of casual players like myself. I think a good solution would be to standardize the armory data and change the amount of data required to level up weapons at the different tiers. I.e., one to level up to master-crafted, 3 to artificer, and 6 to relic (or something similar). They could also change the amount of armory data you receive at the different difficulty levels, so that if you wanted to level up faster and could handle the higher difficulty then that would be an option. And in my personal limited experience, the terminus and extremis enemies seem to be completely unbalanced. Raveners and Lictors are barely an inconvenience, while Zoanthropes can pretty much end my solo runs. Same with Neurothropes. I'd take a Carnifex over a Neurothrope any day. Not sure if other people would agree or if it's just a personal skill issue. I'm a casual player with very limited time to spend on video games (dad problems), and I've been trying to do Substantial runs to get the artificer weapons. If there are no Zoanthrope or Neurothrope spawns then it's practically a cakewalk, otherwise its all but a guaranteed defeat. That being said, I exclusively play solo, and have been focusing on more close-range builds, so maybe it's not as big an issue as it seems. And last thing for me as a solo casual player would be to let me choose what class the bots are.

I struggled with the neurothorpes too. After that I just watched and learned its patterns. And now I can say that neuro much easier than carnifex. You can easily kill it with all melee classes you just need more time and patience. It has two stages. In floating stage you just need to avoid all the warp shit it throws at you and wait for the second while your bot teammates do some damage. In second ground stage you just roll in and use all you can. Repeat until it dies. Carnifex much harder and unpredictable. You barely can hit it with melee and basically f’d up if you out of ammo. But I agree with double zoanthropes. They are nightmare on any difficulty if you not a tactical with auspex ready, sniper or heavy. They are true hidden terminus threat enemy

I agree zoanthropes are by far the most annoying enemy especially if you are playing solo with a melee focused class, I think the issue comes down to the fact they only have unblockable attacks, I think a good change would be making the orbs they shoot parryable and it goes back to hit them if you perfect parry them, but make the window small. Just add more counterplay, vanguard's should be able to grapple to them too. I disagree on standardising currency though, there should be good rewards locked behind hard difficulties, not everyone should be able to get everything because nothing means anything then.

@@a.garcha199 on top of all the bs they’re too tanky and constant unbreakable shield swap is infuriating. The moment you managed to stick krak nade they instantly swap and nade is waisted. Devs nerfed swap cd last patch but I didn’t noticed any change And to resolve floating invulnerability devs should give us ability to catch the tail and bring mofos to the ground

@@a.garcha199 Agree to disagree I guess. When it comes to weapons I think all players should have a chance to access the weapons, regardless of skill level. By locking high-tier weapons behind higher difficulties, you're basically just making the game easier and more fun for the more skilled players. I do agree that there should be exclusive rewards for the higher difficulties, but I think these should be limited to cosmetics. It would also be cool if they added leaderboards for the operations for various stats and such. That would add additional gratification for the more skilled players and add a competitive edge that could incentivize people to keep playing even after they've maxed everything out.

My biggest gripes are with the UI, matchmaking, and loading screens. UI - I play on PS5, I don't need a curser, please let me turn it off and let me move through the menus with the D pad. Some menus let you and others don't why? Also, why is the curser so slow,? Make it snappy! Why do I have to walk over to the loadout room to change anything on my SM? Please just give me a menu, I don't need to take 50 steps to unlock a new armor piece. This causes me to leave my group after every operation and exacerbates my next issue. As covered in your video, please can we have class based matchmaking? (also, why do I have to walk 50 steps to change my class). Also, I refuse to join a group with only one player, I will leave immediately and re-que because it stops trying to find a 3rd. All, these issue are made worse by loading screens, so many loading screens! Sorry for the essay, I'll return to my hole.

you can quick travel to different parts of the ship by using the back menu (on xbx controller, don't know what it is for PS5) that lets you see different parts of the ship and lets you edit your squad. you don't actually need to run over every time.

For blocking weapons, they need a ridiculously massive boost to damage. A gun strike does 100 damage, and majoris enemies have like 300ish hp. By taking away gun strikes by not being able to parry, you lose out on massive amounts of damage. A buff to block weapons needs to use this fact as a basis to build off or provide some other huge benefit when you're losing the ability to drop 1/3 of a majoris enemy's hp consistantly.

One thing i think would help op 4 not be so unpopular i think would be the burial section to be shorter. Sometimes, it takes forever to find the fusion core thing on the servitors, and then the escort section takes a while, too. Maybe shorten the time it takes to find a working fusion core and the time it takes to find a body that can be transferred off world. The rest of the mission, in my opinion, is pretty fun. If they want to keep the difficulty there, they could add more waves but condense the time needed to search and escort. Also, maybe make a second type of terminus enemy for the chaos missions. Something like an Imurah but like a generic version of him that has some of his abilities, such as the first time you fight him in the campaign. I think that might make those operations more interesting.

I think the bigger problem with melee combat in SM2 is that it just not very well suited mechanically for a horde game. All those parry/dodge prompts, QTEs and finishing animations felt appropriate in the campaign mode, but they really mess up the flow of melee movement in operations, especially with increased horde sizes and majoris/extremis numbers. For example, you are fighting a dozen Tyranid warriors with a ton of gaunts on top, and then a Lictor (or three) spawns. Sure, you know you can easily parry its 3-attack combo for a gun strike, but while you are doing that some attacks from the horde around you would slip in, staggering or maybe even knocking you down. On Lethal difficulty that probably means death. It is just much more effective to roll away, while throwing nades and unloading your melta. On some occasions I even get knocked out of jogging to the target of my finisher or during gun strike animations. Melee combat just feels so clunky and unreliable sometimes. Especially if compared to the Tide games, prime examples of horde games done right.

Idk I think the melee combat is super super fun I really like the flow, yes while you're fighting a lichter it's possible a grunt hits you but you make the contested health back anyway by attacking, if you're getting staggered it's on you for positioning poor enough you have majoris enemies behind you

@a.garcha199 Oh, sure, melee is super fun fith all the gore, chainsaw revving, stomps, slaps, etc. But pugging through Lethal on Vanguard I noticed that my melee-to-ranged damage ratio eventually shifted heavily towards ranged damage. Melee kinda locks you in place, since you have to go through all those finisher animations, chain parries and gun strikes, during all of which you can't move. Which hurts positioning btw, since enemies just don't die fast enough in melee.

@@KlayThorn Both perfect parry and gunstrikes knock back enemys, i can stay in a hord indefnitly just using melee. I hate to say it but sounds like a skill issue on your end. Most of the dmg in this game comes from gunstrikes (outside a few outliers) because unlike both melee and regular ranged dmg does not get scaled. Gunstrike dmg has a hidden modifier on it that scales with difficulty so you always put enemys into execute with 3 no matter the difficulty (unless you have assault with 50% more gunstrike dmg then its 2). Only way to reliably generate armor is also gunstrikes so the game is heavily skewed towards "melee", especially now that perfect parrying minoris gives you armor back. Its very apparent on chaos missions because theres almost no way to generate armor so you just end up getting shredded wich is why chaos missions feel bad to play in general as the established core gameplay loop gets completely thrown away

@@cherryrook8684 Hey, I'll readily admit that I only have around 50 hours in the game, so I might not be the most experienced battle brother, but I did manage to pug my way to survivor's helmet before 4.1 patch. During that journey I had times when apparently Emperor himself guided me and I managed to solo waves and 3x Lictors, but I also had more than one horde in which I personally couldn't stay indefinitely. Perfect parrying Minoris felt like the most effective way to regen armor to me. While gun strikes are cool and all they always felt like a bit of a trap, since they don't provide any i-frames. Yeah, the animation is only half a second, but in a true horde you can get knocked down easily during that time, especially when there are enraged enemies around. Anyway, those are just my 2 cents, it might very well might be that this type of combat is not my cup of tea.

About melee defense class. I think they should give all defense classes the same parry window (the one fencing has). Block weapons can only parry minoris enemies, balanced weapons can parry everything, and fencing weapons can also parry everything and add stack damage vulnerability faster than the other 2 classes. Currently, the fact that fencing lets you react to super fast attacks with relative ease, makes fencing irreplacable. The fact that parries add damage vulnerability to targets, and gunstrikes 2 tapping any majoris, and 3 tapping any extremis, and parrying being an excellent way to kill minoris, makes the other defense classes completely not worth picking. The aforementioned could be a solution.

Devs please; - Fix staggering issue where you become unable to evade and just get smacked up by groups of Warriors - Upon completely “mastering” your chosen weapon to Max, give us a final Mastery Point for the weapons Perks. Honestly I think weapon tier should be set up; Standard has 2 variants / Master-Crafted has 3 variants then both Artificer & Relic have 4 variants. Some perks should be changed to something different, the repetitive “Gun spread is reduced 25% when not aiming down sights” perk is useless when it could be something like “Performing a Gun-Strike on a Majoris enemy-type additionally deals mild damage to surrounding enemies, Cooldown 120 seconds”. There’s also afew weapons that have 2 Ammo buff Perks right beside eachother and it’s such a waste. Could have something like “Upon receiving lethal damage, become immune to being Knocked-Back by attacks and 10% damage increase lasting 10 seconds”. - Have guaranteed Ammo Cashes at areas a Boss will spawn so Melee focused classes don’t become useless in certain situations - Reduce number of Warriors who use the nightmarishly annoying weapon that covers the ground in vines, or as I call it; the Aids Cannon, and replace them with Melee focused Warriors, or add in a new Tyranid enemy type, say a Pyrovore or Leaper to “fill in” spaces that those Aids Cannon users take up. They spawn in ridiculous sizes outnumbering any other Warrior type present where you are fighting, and the game is noticeably quick to replace them with another when they die almost immediately. They should be strictly a support-type enemy backing up Snipers and not a common enemy, every 1 Sniper backed-up by 1-2 Aids Cannon Warriors and regular Minoris enemies. - Fix the Ai for bots when Solo’ing, they’ve turned stupid and don’t do anything unless you’re near them, I’ve had plenty of times a Warrior will be calling Reinforcements while I’m 20 meters away fighting and the bots are right next to the enemy but they are both fighting the same enemy and ignoring the Warrior calling Reinforcements. - This one might just be me cos whenever it does happen it’s so aggravating, but fix the issue where Warrior Snipers can “Hold” their shot until you’re purposely coming out of your roll to damage you. Tyranid Snipers charge up til the beam changes colour, you hear the sound que and you dodge, simple as that. There’s multiple times I’ve solo’d and a Sniper will aim in on one of the friendly bots and charge the shot, you can recognise it’s about to shoot, say I dodge a heavy attack and now I’m in the same area as the targeted friendly Ai, the Sniper immediately switches “aggro” to you and will hold the shot and the beam is on the colour that it changes to when it fires but it hasn’t, it waits til you finish your roll, and then fires and shoots you and then can immediately charge up again in under a second and shoot you again.
