Arizona's Official State Firearm is the _Colt Single Action Army Revolver._ Otherwise known as "The Peacemaker". Utah's Official State Gun happens to be the _M1911._ Designed by the legendary John Browning, who was* born in Ogden, Utah. No doubt some Tennessean (did I say that correctly?) will be by shortly to remind us of their state firearm. The B_____t M_2. Nevertheless, this is not a competition ladies and gentlemen. We should be grateful that a "State Firearm" even exists. Although, I firmly believe that *_all_* fifty states should have an official State Firearm but I digress. Stay classy my friends. *EDITED for grammar.

Honestly the 1911's are OK, tried out the duty style tanfos at IWA and yeah. slides were impossible to get a nice grip on, ehm triggers at best, their new 22 had a good trigger. Like shockingly good. that being said. Tanfo were the only guns that had problems. hammer falling, triggers not activating the hammer and such. Idk if this was just because of them using the same guns for every show or not, but none of the other guns had such problems at all. It was very disappointing to see.

I' m a fan of Tanfoglio. These guys actually managed to make a polymer framed 1911 with a Piccatinny rail. As sacreligious as it sounds, the pistol is spectacular.

First time I saw that I thought "they made a fantastic gun that will make 1911 fans enraged". However, since that gun already didn't have replaceable grips, it's a shame they didn't follow up with a 2011 style gun.

I used to own a Witness 1911 when I still lived in Italy around twenty years ago, it was very basic but it shoot pretty straight, and I loved the .45 ACP, I think I paid 600 Euros at the time, all was good apart from the two repellent magazines it came with: one was unreliable, the other one didn't work at all, so I bought two colt magazines and that was the end of the issues, I guess that better magazines was one of the improvements Tanfoglio made.

I was kinda bummed to see the state of the pistols they displayed to handle at least at the main booth. Even at the first day at IWA it was like they keep the same for all fairs. Maybe they were ravaged during enforcetac or shipping? I'd like to see more lean to the multi caliber conversion kits and offer deals on 2-3 calber slides bought together. That is what sets them apart besides the competition options and maybe starter sets put together in collab with holsters, belts, more mags to jump into competition. The looks of the whole line up needs a slight facelift, a bit more italian flair. I'm just talking about looks. The function is fine. A lot of the differences between the models have to be promoted cause they're often internal to fit the different needs of the user like semi polygonal rifling and the extreme parts. The looks can come from a custom shop too. The width of models has to remain. The quality needs to stay up when they try to expand.

This is why Mr. Tanfoglio wouldn't say that the 1911 is inferior to the CZ-75 pattern system...or in James' words "1911's suck!" I love the look and history of the 1911, but the CZ-75 does appear to be an overall positive innovation over the older platform. Still, 1911's have charm and 2 world wars (potentially 3 if it's lucky).

Tanfoglio is not something I would normally hear, but recently, I learn that Tanfoglio made part for the Jericho 941. There is also a theory that none of the Jericho part was made in Israel and all the part instead comes from Italy and Vietnam recent year and Israel only assemble the gun. Not sure if that is true but by saying that, you also can tell how high quality Tanfoglio products are

The Jericho 941 was a Tanfoglio 88 series with a fancy dust cover. Initially all the parts bar the barrel were made by Tanfoglio. Then, IMI tooled up, until all the gun was made in Israel. When IMI became IWI, they started back to buy some parts from Tanfoglio. In this Tanfoglio factory tour, you can see they are making Jericho's slides. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnyqk4ytbNdojac

Good ole Tanfoglio. Always 15years behind the times. This product should have been a 2011, slide cut, ported barrels with premium features. Instead, they entered the early 2000s. This company will die a slow death if they don’t make changes at the top and in their marketing department.

Yeah, they're not gonna last long making things they've made before for years now. This is certainly gonna put them in the ground for good... making a firearm that continues to be sold to plenty of people that like them, around the world, despite a very vocal group that can't fathom people liking things they don't. They're done for after this. Not even their history of making high end competition guns, more affordable competition guns, and good personal defense guns that have continually sold well across europe and here in the states, will be enough to save them. This 7 + 1 round american classic will doom them, just as it has springfield, tisas, dan wesson, nighthawk custom, ed brown, chip mccormick, cabot guns, alchemy custom weaponry, and many more who make different models and continue to sell them.

They do not care about impressing you or delivering a performance 1911 as they firmly believe it is an inferior platform. This is a toy gun for not so rich Europeans.that wants a good looking 1911 without stupid European 1911 price tag (likely still expensive). Different markets and preferences, different products. It might make it to the US, but that's likely not something they care about as they didn't even spoke about it with their importer.
