I think Poochie’s main problem was that he had nothing to do with the show’s chemistry or premise. Itchy & Scratchy is a show about cartoon violence, so a character based on a collection of trends made only to make the show more relevant isn’t going to fit in inside of it’s world. Perhaps if Poochie had joined the duo in their bloodbath and provided more creative ways to get slaughtered, his reception would have been in higher regard.
