@Jj-pb5mo6 жыл бұрын
achillies25 Okay you keep bringing up other people in this addiction argument but I'm solely talking about MJ because everyone's circumstance is different. Rich or poor, young or old, we are humans who deal with shit differently. Michael initially got into addiction following the pepsi incident. It was not his fault at all and he was mostly bald due to it. That caused it! He was always in constant pain. Another thing is he had trust issues with everyone and I know you know the reason why so I'm not going to get into it. To sum it up, he was a human at the end of the day and a victim of a lot of cases; pepsi incident, false pedo allegations, millions in debt, fearing for his own life, having blanket nearly taken away from him due to the germany incident, his father etc. Honestly I can go on and on but it is early in the morning here and london and can barely type right now

The Victory Tour could've been something special. Instead, it became the ultimate example of what happens when BUSINESS and FAMILY collide. It all started with Motown 25. If you remember, they were all dragged together for that event (just as a lot of former Motown artists were). When their segment became one of the highlights, it was decided that there should be a new Jacksons album and Tour to capitalize off of it. This especially pissed Mike off, as he had to put his plans on hold for this. If you stop to think about how talented these brothers were and how it would've been if they all decided ON THEIR OWN to make a new album together (instead of having lots of unseen hands forcing them together like this), it would've turned out so much better. Instead, it drove a wedge within the family, and I'm doubtful that anything has been resolved. Don King calling Mike a SELLOUT and giving him the classic "YOU ALWAYS GONNA BE A NIGGA" speech didn't help.

Marlon said Michael I'm going to try and upstage you and show everyone I got moves too. Only that your 40 seconds of hip action still couldn't upstage Michael. This was back when performances were really spiritual to a performer. not that those types of performers dont exist now, but because of the rise of technology and social media, a lot of artists do what they do (whether on or off stage) for clout because they know they are most likely being filmed today. during the 80's though, it was the experience that counted as everything. they did things they felt in their hearts and souls on stage for those audiences to see and be part of and i think that is so beautiful and genuine. i dont want to sound like the kind of person that complains about the present-day but social media kind of did ruin living in the moment and authenticity of celebrities so its really amazing seeing these performances where the tour itself being filmed probably wasn't anyone's top priority or even on anyone's minds at all.
