@@Arcticretro For the record I have no idea about how it works, rules - only a family friend had one in their basement in the 90s.

Nice restoration! You could try a PC floppy drive to the Panasonic controller.

Many (most?) MSX computers had the second cartridge/expansion port in the back. That floppy drive module would make more sense on one of those. But if it fits, it works. And there can be some interesting effects when you plug two games cartridges in those slots at the same time. I've not had the opportunity to experience those first hand, but I believe there are game cheats, easter eggs, and some crazy effects. You'd need specific cartridges in specific slots for those.

Nice 👍 I would say the battery is a Ni Cad AA cell. It will almost likely need to be replaced from the age of the machine.

Memory organization on the MSX/MSX2 machines is complicated. MSX can have memory in several slots. It depends on the machine which memory is located in which slot. If the software is designed well, this shouldn't be a problem but in reality, it is. That might be the reason, why one of your tapes can't find the 64K of ram...it simply searches in the wrong places. MSX2 adds memory mappers on top of the slots, which makes it even more complicated...

OK, that sounds plausible. Thanks for the info :)

It looks like you need a Variac (autotransformer) for your workbench... That game is Pachinko! It's a form of "vertical pinball" very popular in Japan - they have Pachinko parlors that have row upon row of machines.
