Got to spend some time chatting to Jun-san of J Beat about his history as a body specialist and his transition over to becoming a fully fledged car builder. From his roots in drifting he’s carried over his innovative style in creating show stopping cars, collaborating on builds with Miura-san of Pandem and Jun-san of Hardcore for both TAS and SEMA. I check out his Datsun Sunny truck in detail and go for a ride with him, hearing his turned A15 motor scream away! The Nissan Champ is legendary in South Africa, they were in local production from 1971-2008! Still see them on the roads.

When it comes to sunny trucks or 1400s' as we like to call it in South Africa , I personally think we have the most of these mini trucks that have been modified intensely, also our beloved Nissan Champ 1400 was produced until 2007 so there is a bunch of them driving around here!

Thanks again Dino for bringing such bliss to us petrolheads 🤗i honestly really like the simple yet tasteful & pro approach of this shop & he really look like an humle & great buddy🤗im also maybe a bit biased toward the Datsun Sunny 😁as im lucky to own a 2 door Sunny B110 sedan 73 myself that i have alot of plans with as example build it like an Ts Cup replica for the road, Mikuni Tmr bike carburetors,old Fujitsubo manifold,& period correct set of Nismo /Kanto seiki & smiths meters to name some parts collected so far, always love to see such old school simple back to basic build but still with attention to all the small details,also love when some also sticks to the old power plants sometimes & not always have to go crazy engine swaps, in my opinion balance between weight & initial response is much more fun than just horsepower,all the mechanical whines & soul. my Sunny & i Greetings from Norway 🎶& keep up the Passionate work Dino
