I started playing the game a week ago and Boon Totems really are the most annoying thing I have had to deal with. I learned to watch for Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike. I can mindgame around pallets and windows sometimes. My lunge distance gauging is getting better. I have no clue what to do about the Boon Totems aside from just having to constantly step on them whenever I hear it. It really is one of the most annoying things I have to deal with, and they show up in EVERY game. Just let me break the totem permanently. I don't want to step on the same boon on the same totem four times.

Either that, or have them be like hexes where they're applied to a random dull totem at the start of a match, and if it's removed kaput Survivor perks should be weaker thsn killer perks, but make up for this by the fact survivors get 16 perks on their team, whilst a killer has only 4 You shouldn't make survivor perks as powerful as killed perks, and if you do the6 should have HEAVY restrictions

the only viable way for pentimento to work i can think of - pair it with plaything. That way, when u start to restore them for 90 sec only 1 surv can break them again. So u either force them to break things or play with oblivious. Ofc they can still use boon but it takes twice as longer against hex so they still waste a lot of time

There should be stacks in booms that count the times you can place them, and you can get them back by helping your team with them (tho you need a cooldown on the toten placement) like healing them with the healing circle, losing killers with shadow step and getting survivor back on with the new toten

Until either snuffing breaks the totems or boons have only 1-2 uses max, it won't make a difference. But I think it would be fair if they had only 1 charge so it would work same as Hexes.

@@RealNefastus I think it should just be that you can only bless a totem once, and that applies to all teammates. If it gets put out you can't bless that totem again. You can find another totem to bless elsewhere, but once all totems are snuffed your perk won't work anymore. At least that way it puts a cap on it and prevents people from bringing a full squad of Boon perks to abuse the power. As it is right now they're just broken. I usually deal with at least 2 people in a squad that spam Boons all over the map. It's really annoying and ruins any chance at having fun, which is already hard in the red ranks.

I was playing Twins yesterday (because I enjoy torturing myself, and I wanted to see if I could find a better build for them), and CoH fucked me so hard I asked why it didn't take me to dinner first. The worst part about Pentimento is that Sloppy Butcher slows healing by 20% and gives hemorrhage (As weak of an effect that is, it still technically helps the killer more than not having it). If you somehow get 1 Pentimento token, it is basically just a slightly better Sloppy Butcher that can be destroyed and everyone knows where it is.

I know people are a bit torn on her lore so let me try to make some sense of it. Ok so here's my "I'm a lore nut and theorist give me a break" theory: This killer shows that the entity is evolving when it comes to selecting killers. With the artist, this wasn't the entity laying in wait to take someone, the entity was actually grooming this one. Crows are the agents of the entity, they're used to surveil the survivors and aid the killer, so what if the entity found a way to use the crows in our world to aid the entity like they do in its realm? The crows appeared to Carmina at her worst moment, stopping her from killing herself. This can be taken in numerous ways but here's how I take it: The entity saw potential in her to become a killer and used the crows to prevent the entity from losing her. Want to know my justification for this? This line from her lore entry: "She felt their heavy stare on her, calculative and enigmatic, as if they were assessing her." AS IF THEY WERE ASSESSING HER. Ergo: The entity was judging her to see if she was indeed worthy of becoming a killer. Then add this "The crows left, but Carmina suspected that if anything happened to her, they would return.," This was the entity saying "I'm watching you with interest, and I plan on protecting my investment." Then we move to the night she was taken, to the night the act was committed that allowed the entity to finally take its newest Killer. Once she had been mutilated, the entity took its cue and sent its servants to finalize things. Here's where things get interesting in my mind, because I don't think it was anything Carmina did that summoned the crows that night, it was the act of the hooded man that mutilated her...But the entity realized that she indeed was the better option. Look back at the spirit for a second. The entity was ready to take her father but chose willingly to take Rin instead. Look at this passage: "A dark Fog slowly veiled her eyes, but it could not subdue her rage. She would not rest--not yet. The darkness whispered, promising blood and revenge. An oath was made and Rin closed her eyes." Now look at this passage from the artists lore: "As the ravenous crows pecked at his flesh mercilessly, Carmina smiled, watching her Surrealist art coming to life." At this moment, Carmina approved of the slaughter, the kind of act of violence that she would have to commit as a killer, just like how Rin accepted that when the entity made her the offer. The entity knew at this point she was the one, so then the entity showed her the life that awaited her and slaughtered her innocent friends, just like she would slaughter innocent victims as a killer. Then the fog swept in, and her fate was sealed. That's why the lore works for me here. Thanks to anyone who actually read this.

Kinda wish hexes would reapply themselves after they are blessed, not right away tho, in like 30 seconds, I want Mikaela to feel bad when she keeps setting off my haunted grounds but I want her to also feel paranoid everytime she's racing against the clock to keep it at bay and struggling to maintain value for her boon. Or, she could choose not to break that exact totem and...go to the OTHER haunted grounds totem. I think this would be a meaningful change because then the boon perks dont become a turn your brain off perk, rather you have to actively decide if the boon is worth the time and investment.

Completely agree with the statement about boons. Unless you run thrill of the hunt, survivors can literally just boon your totems. If totems were a little quieter but got completely snuffed out whenever you stomped them, it would encourage survivors to be more careful when using them
