That’s so sad. I’m so sorry. This band has been instrumental in my life, in a very weird way. I’m not going to get into it. But this is the first time I’ve have the nerve, guts, desire to listen to this. In fact, my first purchase of artwork was from the Innovative, graphic design, his name is David Carson. I bought a piece of artwork from him that he created back in the day, when this song hit radio, and it was in the day that cut and paste, or actually was scissors and glue and marketing was at its pre tech height. sidewalking. Jesus and Mary chain. that hangs on my wall and I’ll never let it go.

Pure evil and malevolence...there was a time when JAMC were the greatest band on the planet bar none...and lucky (old) me got to see them several times in their heyday...all the stories you hear are true....relentlessly aggressive and sure of their own superiority they were iconic and iconoclastic.

Agree. Saw them at the Holloway Rd gig, which had elements of Pop Art to it. The violence was like a Tom and Jerry cartoon. Maybe they played for 15 minutes. The Electric Ballroom was more like the Itchy and Scratchy Show. Darker. Still, a great band.

I saw them in concert around 1992 (?). They were great. A girl that came with us jumped on the stage (small venue) and grabbed the sunglasses off James Reid, the lead singer, and he was not happy. She gave them back.

Love the bass that sounds like a burr & the drum machine- so industrial and yet the whole song is pure rock _ magic

Heard John Peel play this back in tha day. He had the 1st radio airplay of it and as soon as it finished he just played it again! Saying something along the lines of "record of the year? It's going on again". I'd never heard him play the same track back to back before so he must have though it pretty special. Wish I could find a recording of him playing it with his commentary....superb. Needless to say I made a purchase as soon as it was released.

JAMC videos were my "We got horny to you" (the SNL song) I was around 16 at the time and a late bloomer that made it more acceptable. I mean "Far Gone and Out", irresitible AF. I loved the thinly veiled sexual references and my dad hated the f**k out of them and then I was sure I was out to something."Upside Down" is the song that I play for him and he just seemed horrified. Maybe it was a bit much by way of an introduction. Should have gone with Just Like Honey or even Cut Dead. I know this is unrelated with the previous post but what can you expect after smoking a lot of weed. This may not even be related to the thread and this is how I know this was good weed.
