Jon used to be a salesman and was trained to sell things honestly. You don't make money from products that get returned in sales. These airframes are so expensive that it takes a lot of money and work to ship them back if you don't want one after an influencer dupes you into a purchase. We know not everyone is going to be happy, but we don't want affiliate sales from unhappy customers. We'd rather post what we see as the truth and let you decide if it's good for you. Thanks!

I've un subscribed from other channels because after watching a dozen videos on a dozen planes there aren't any negatives to be mentioned. They'll takeoff and within 30 seconds say its a great flying plane and great for beginners blah blah blah I've actually bought planes because of that and was pissed because the plane was a let down. Thanks for the honesty and loyalty to the subscribers/viewers. In the long run it's best for everyone including the manufactures.

As a beginner in jets (Flying only FPV) I watched many reviews only you and a few other channels do point out weakness in their reviews. In the beginning every landing without repair is a successful flight, they forgot maybe ... Had bought the K8 from flyfans and i did about 32 flights with lots of repairs. I did follow your advice with the FMS zero as a beginner warbird and Its my favorite ❤ Greetings from the Philippines😊

Thank for telling the truth about this jet, and all the other channels that say every R/C plane IS AMAZING!!! LOL most of us understand they are sales pimps for the R/C model companies. It's a shame they do this to newbies. I'm currently training a friend, first time ever flying at 62 yrs young. He will call me and say, " hey I was watching so and so on KZbin. What do you think about this plane? NO, NO, NO !! And as far as this jet....It's ugly in my opinion. Hard pass. Keep up the good work.

Well as you said. It is not filled with affiliate links and it is your thoughts and feelings after flight is was it is. I learn a lot of your videos. Even that i make reviews my self i feel that it is easy these day to sort out fake and real reviews. Again thank you for the honest reviews. Ps the Futura 64mm i belive is the best beginner( friendly) jet i have tried. I also have the viper 15 aniversary but that one is bit more stall(ish) but i like it alot. Have a great weekend.

FMS had a flash sale yesterday for these things 100 bucks shipped. Considering there is no evidence of this jet anywhere on Tomahawk Aviation's website, Id say FMS knows "unique looking" was not the best way to advertise here and probably wont restock his jet. Also have heard other call this a "high alpha monster" gotta love it

Oh you gotta tell us who called this a "high alpha monster", it's very clearly anything but lol It does look like FMS is trying to get rid of this jet. We love working with them but this was an absolutely... not great decision to produce. Just about anything else would be better. Tomahawk did make the Integral at one point, but damn is it ugly.

I also kinda scorn at the idea of sport jets making for good beginner jets to begin with. With some exceptions, they typically don't feature the most noble flight dynamics and tendencies. There are many delta designs that are actually easier to fly, for instance.

We think it's less that they've forgotten what it's like to be a beginner and more that they're trying to get as many affiliate sales as possible, consequences be damned. It's really sad to see. Falsely advertising this jet as beginner-friendly is going to turn away newcomers, not draw more people in.

Futura airframe I've found has the most forgiving stall.

I think sport jets are a funny category. They are marketed as easier to fly and good for starting out in edf jets. However, I disagree with this. Sport jets don’t have a whole lot of angle of attack tolerance and as we know, when you exceed critical AOA the wing stalls, and chaos ensues if the aircraft is low enough and you can’t recover. So because critical AOA is relatively low for sport jets, they stall easier than a lot of military jets. In my opinion, airplanes like the Gripen and Rafale are easier to start out in. They have absurdly high critical AOA and have very forgiving stall characteristics. So in my opinion because military jets tend to have better flight characteristics and remain controllable throughout more of the slow flight regime, they actually make for a better jet to learn on. Maybe I’m just a psycho though.

Gripen is a bad example because it stalls earlier than jets like Rafale and loses lateral stability when it does, but you're correct otherwise. Sport jets aren't what we would call beginner airframes. They can be excellent trainers.

@@TwoBrosRC You may be right about the Gripen. I don’t have quite as much time on the Gripen compared to the Rafale. Still though, a lot of guys at my club will have me maiden their sport jets, and I feel like they are actually slightly more difficult to land because you can’t correct airspeed as much with attitude and power adjustment. So they come in slightly hotter and will carry enough energy to burn significant amounts of runway. It probably just has a lot to do with what you’re more comfy with though. I tend to fly only military jets.

We actually hate how Avanti looks in any iteration. Futura is a way better looking jet. But this is exactly why we don't score anything based on appearance. There is no accounting for taste!

It's impossible to please everyone. There's people who hate how the F-14 looks. That being said, this is ... not what most people wanted from FMS, and we're hoping they take that feedback and make something more traditional.

You mentioned quite a few times about the Viper 70 being a good beginner jet. What about the eFlite Habu STS? I tried with the Habu 50 SS and failed miserably. I could not land it without destruction. Thanks... I love your channel.

Upon further consideration, the Viper is more of a good trainer jet for beginners, not a good beginner jet. There's a distinction. If you're already familiar with how to fly, the Viper is a perfect jet to start learning to fly jets with. If you're less confident or very new to flying, the Habu is a much better choice - but if you have issues with the Habu, a jet is probably not the best option for you yet. We'd recommend learning to fly with the HobbyZone Aeroscout via bit.ly/3D5vBth which is significantly easier to fly than any jet would be.

@@TwoBrosRC I am actually beyond the Aeroscout level. I'm currently flying a Valiant 1.3 and a T-28 1.1. I fly competently with both of those. I just can't help having interest in jets even though I probably should wait longer and fly some more advanced prop planes before going there. Thanks for the response.

That was a title we considered. "The Jet Nobody Asked For" - but we also didn't want to unnecessarily antagonize a company we work with, however accurate the title may have been. To be fair, though, nobody *needs* a model aircraft. It's purely a hobby and there's nothing necessary about it. Someone undoubtedly loves the way this plane looks, but the community largely does not, and that's unfortunate. Hopefully FMS listens and doesn't make another one of these frowned-upon Tomahawk designs again.
