There is a fixed spacer under the center of the bed. You would want to level the center of the bed using the Z end stop then the springs for flatness.

The one question I always have with idex printers I never see reviewers test. How well does it handle doing supports in a different material. The main reason I want an idex is to print my supports in water soluble material so I don't have to cut and sand supports away.

Thanks for your honest review. I have one of these and haven't unboxed it yet, debating selling it...

First the bed has center pole under the bed for the center point. You have to preheat use the screw to leveling the center point then level the corners point The second extruder has 4 screws. Unscrew lose top has level screw to set the high Remember keep temperature. 200 standby to avoid extruder ready

Regarding the ribbon cables to the head units: I support industrial wide format inkjet printers for a living. The models I work with have multiple ribbon cables that are about 10 feet long that go between the main control PCB and the print carriage. The carriage slides back and forth at much faster speed than this FDM printer runs at, and problems with the cables are very rare. So I'm not worried about the ribbon cables on this product.

I'm looking and can't tell if those hot ends have part cooling fans in there?

I've got mine set up, and like you, the money cat looked great at first go. I was impressed by how clean and minimal the layer lines looked at 0.2 ("draft"). They also included a number of helpful tools in the box. But I've also been frustrated by the center of the bed being higher than the corners.

Given its simply an aluminum plate, why aren't people simply removing the stuck on magnetic base (ostensibly glued to the aluminum bed to provide the magnets for the metal top bed part to adhere to) and sanding it flat, using a known straightedge to check it and proceeding slowly with a light grit??? No doubt anyone's preference would be for the mfgr. to ship flat build plates, but this seems like an obvious and simple fix for even a noob.

Not sure if he knows what he is doing I use tenlog, hictop an flasforge IDEX. The Flasforge came calibrated. The hictop has an adjustment on the second hot end for height. The Flashforge slicer actually shows both models when doing duplication.

Did you ever hear any feedback from JGMaker? I've seen them reply to other reviewers. I would like to hear their response to your critique of the nozzle design.

Sounds like you had heat creep from the hot end

I was starting to like what I saw in the beginning. Meh, I think I'll wait for the 2.0 version with screw in nozzles. Cleaning nozzle jams are to be expected, but not every time I want to change the nozzle!

I agree with that. I also don't want to deal with proprietary nozzles. If JG ever stop making them, you have a brick on your shelf.

@@brianmi40 A year ago I picked up a Tenlog Hands 2. I am happy with it. If they'd have come out with standard nozzles I'd have this on my bench.

regarding snap out hot ends... there is no need for torquing hot nozzles and no leaking nozzle to heat break threaded joints, and simply snipping the filament above the hot end and pulling out the hot end, either hot or cold, works fine for us. How you see this as harder than screwing hfeat breaks and noxxles out of heater blocks while everything is hot is beyond me. Why did plastic leak onto the outside of the hot end for you? there is no place for it to leak out of!
