I became Eastern Orthodox about two years ago and it led me to Universalism when I started reading the ancient church fathers. the early Eastern Fathers were Universalists for up to 500Ad! By the way I have met a few other Universalists in EO!

@@spiritualworldquora I am fully aware of the 5th Ecumenical Council and its condemnation of Origen as a Heretic. Emperor Justinian is also part of the reason why the Latin and Eastern Church were splitting up. However, even in the ancient Latin church St Augustine and St Jerome were once Universalists. When St Jerome left it, St Augustine called him out on it in their exchange of letters. St Augustine even stated in “City of God” that “there are many universalists around.” Which means that even in the Latin (Rome) church , where eternal conscience torment first spread, was very universalist which brings to my greater point that the eastern father of the other Patriarchies (Constantinople, Antioch, Alexander and Jersusalem) was dominantly universalist. And yes after Emp. Justinian in 553 AD universalism (The restitution of all things) was dying down. Sadly…
