13:00 "if you are watching the media on a consistent basis ... you are swimming upstream if you are trying to be positive. you are being conditioned not to be. if you want to make a positive change in your life, one of the first things you can do is to cut out traditional media." 13:40 "I have no idea what is going on in the world. I know what is going on in my world, but I don't have a cluewhat is going on in the eyes of the media. People ask, 'well, how do you know what is going on in the world?' And my natural response is, are you kidding me? It's obvious what's going on... do you want to know what is going on? EVERYTHING is going on! In the forest there are things eating each other, being born, trees falling... A far better question to ask is, 'What would I rather choose to focus on'" hahahahahahhah amazing!

I haven’t followed the media or owned a TV in years. Maybe this is why I describe myself as content and positive. It never occurred to me that the absence of media might be a cause. Interesting.

Now, this is eye opening to me. I never heard somebody speaking about this in such clarity. All I heard until now was that we are hooked to the negative. But WHY? Thank you Peter for explaining that to me. This opens a whole new avenue in my life. Turning the amígdala and the RAS into a useful tool to fulfilment on my journey through this wonderful opportunity called life. Wow. I am flubbergasted . 🙂

Emotional maturity is definitely something I have been lacking and thank you Peter for pointing out the difference between emotional and physical maturity in such a clear way. On the plus side I haven't watched terrestrial TV for 13 years now which I can say I haven't missed much ! My past victim mentality has held me from emotional maturity, I feel because I relied on the to me, poor me mentality. You have given me the mindset to think of past loses as lessons and life negativity as strengths for the future. Another amazing Peter Sage presentation. Thank you from the heart ❤🙏

Powerful. Getting in touch w school friends after years away, really put this onto focus for me. School reunions may serve a positive purpose after all! It’s good data for self-analysis on this topic - Have I grown? Where, how... How much do I limit myself w old standards? 🌻☀️🌧☀️🌻

A great one as usual Peter! I never connected the 2, but the continual raising of our standards is a fantastic way to increase all aspects of our lives. And by being open, willing and vulnerable, we are able to humbly accept that we need to shift our perspective and steer our energies in the best direction.

You're a John Kehoe disciple. I studied Kehoe in 2006. He's one of the best kept secrets! I'm an "interior designer," by all definitions. I design conventional interior spaces (homes - kitchens, baths). However, the ultimate "INTERIOR" design project is re-designing one's HEART space. If you need someone to help you re-design your physical space (home or office), feel free to connect. I live in LA...~Giang (means River in Vietnamese. I am in FLOW space because that is what rivers do naturally).

Actually the amygdala is what causes us to experience fear anger and all those volitile emotions that usually affect ones perception of external difficulies and makes us act volitile leading to emotional instability .... Ok update: all parts of the brain are skewed

Came for a talk on emotional maturity, got a fucking talk on the media
@TheRealPeterSage3 жыл бұрын
The importance of media in this video was that exposure to it is one of the major factors that hinder our emotional development by spreading and conditioning us to negativity and drama. Overstimulated amygdala causes us to focus on the negative, which brings our adrenaline and cortisol levels up and our emotional state down. From an alerted/fearful state of mind is much more difficult to achieve a higher level of energy that gets us to a higher state of mind what would allow us to see things differently and from a more mature perspective. Hope that helps!
