Lauren, I’m loving Vlogmass! It’s so nice and relaxing. I also love Stay with me. I read it after watching a video where you talked about it and it blew my mind! I keep recommending it! Christmas is my favourite time of the year, the food, the lights, the music, films, etc Here,in the south of Spain, we usually get very nice weather even at Christmas but I prefer cold, winter days so that you can stay home and enjoy the atmosphere. That’s my tradition.

I am absolutely LOVING your Vlogmas videos, they’re so cosy and relaxing 😌 The Winternight trilogy is one of my favourite series of books, they’re in storage right now but when I get them out of storage (hopefully before Christmas) I don’t think I’ll be able to resist a reread!

I'm the same as you, I always had Christmas at my house and it was just the day to be in and at home, even now, I can't imagine not being home at Christmas because that's just it for me.

1) Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating? So as a librarian you'd think I'd be more equipped to answer this as we have access to pre-published materials a lot of the time. But I always get confused about when things come out and end up reading something that came out months ago thinking I'm 'ahead of the curve' resulting in me never knowing what's coming out next. Long way to say, I have no answer for this one. lol 2) Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it's praises? The Thirteenth Tale and Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell immediately spring to mind. I can usually get people to give the first one a try but the second one is a harder sell because of its length (and not everyone appreciates a footnote like I do). 3) Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building? I really felt like the Divergent series did a great job with building a complex world with a lot of fleshed out characters. I really consumed that series with a passion when I first discovered it. 4) A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read Pride & Prejudice is one that I reread every single year so it's probably my favorite but I absolutely LOVED A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens so I'd like to reread that one again in 2021. 5) Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas Strange Planet by Nathan W. Pyle 6) Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling I recently discovered Grant Snider's works and his book I Will Judge You By Your Bookshelf really touched me. I thought it was beautiful and I really enjoy his way of looking at the world. 7) Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers? I knew this one would stump me. No one book springs to mind except maybe the illustrated Harry Potter books which are just gorgeous pieces of art in their own right. 8) Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories? My favorite thing is getting to surprise my mom with Christmas presents and (attempting because she falls asleep) watching our fave Christmas movies. As a child, my favorite thing was waking up before sunrise and going in to see the tree with its lights on but no overhead light and all of my presents sitting underneath it. As an adult, it's having a cup of coffee and leisurely opening presents with my mom.

we are exactly the same with the Marks & Sparks profiteroles! My Mum insists on them every year and I am going on a hunt for them for our small couple-only Xmas this year!!

I keep meaning to pick Stay With Me up after hearing you talk about it so much. Loving your Vlogmas as I feel in a similar position. Being pregnant also for the first time during this year has been a challenge.

I’m glad you talked about The Northern Lights Trilogy because I’m actually rereading it, and almost done with The Girl In the Tower‼️

Ah! The Winternight Trilogy! What a treat! I've been meaning to read some Russian classics, but I'm struggling with the matter of translation. I can either read in my native language, French, but I've heard Russian translates better in English... So I'm wondering which translation to choose... Or if I should just go for the prettiest cover, which sounds like a much more sensible reason for picking one over another^^

I'm the same as you about new releases! Prior to finding out about booktube (earlier this year) I relied heavily on best books of the year lists and adding them to my tbr, so I'm still regularly reading releases from 2016

I agree with you on The Winternight Trilogy, it's so wonderful, I read them on my e-reader but I should really buy a box set because I really want to re-read them!

I'm really hoping to start the The Winternight Trilogy this month - I've been putting it off all year because I wanted to read it in Winter. I have Eleanor byJason Gurley on my bookshelf and it's a bit of a strange book but I've kept it because of the cover. it's stunning!
