Like said in the video, the headroom is all over the place, not a single model sounds like the pedal they model BUT you can get very good tones out of this pedal, just dial it with your ears and don't ever think you can buy a Timmy or Suhr Riot for 60$...there is a reason why this pedal is cheaper and why most the the pedals modeled cost 2 to 3x the price of this pedal for a single pedal.

Wow, a useable range of sounds from every position on the model selector and the OD-1 was sublime in my opinion, with the T808 a close second. It would be worth buying for those 2 alone. Great demo, Aaron.

Great review. For me this pedal is worth buying just for the OCD. I'm a big fan if their "Sweet Baby Overdrive" Timmy, Sweet Honey(with more gain here) Riot and Crunch Box Clones sounds awesome, tube screamer is good boss overdrive is okay and the boost is sort of useless 🙂 it seems like a great pedal, Joyo really upped their quality in the past years. I've ordered mine!

@@aaronjlivecchi i got the pedal and i like it quite a lot. Timmy and Riot are great, i was already a fan of their Sweet Baby and the one they put here has a little bit more gain so that's even better for me. I don't know what the Crunch Box sounds like but i like theirs, it has a bit of "mesa boogie" feel to it. OCD is a bit heavier and muddier but great sounding as well. Most importantly it is built really solid, something i couldn't say for their previous pedals. I don't think you can get a better overdrive for this price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who thinks about about it!

Headroom and EQ seem to be the main differences. With a couple of exceptions the overall flavor of each mode seem fairly similar, just varying levels of gain. Those exceptions might justify the very reasonable price. The Ibanez/Boss clones and the clean boost (B Boost) sounded the best to me. The Rioter doesn't sound much like my Joyo US Dream (awesome pedal) - but the Sweety does come close to the Sweet Baby. The MI Audio clone was a bit of a fail. The Timmy clone sounds nice in that it's not much like a Timmy but its own thing.

Yea the Timmy one didn’t feel like a Timmy to me. For the price; even one or two drives being used feels justified.

So over all it’s got some good tones in it. I don’t know if any of the drives it claims to emulate sound as good as the originals. But for $60, you def get some useable sounds. Even if one sounds good. It’s only 60.

No. Not enough gain. Idk what it's supposed to be but the Xotic BB has a lot more gain. It also has semi active EQ (ofc they'd have to redesign the pedal to make that work). The Joyo ZIP Amp is a clone of the Xotic BB Preamp Comp (it's awesome!).

I ve listened to three reviews of this pedal now and found the sound the same, a little disappointing, it is too hollow, plastic, compressed for my taste. The reviews of the R-20 "King of Kings" give a far better performance to my ears, i liked far better.
