I think this Tatum performance is similar to Lebron in his first finals in Miami. He wasn’t necessarily bad overall but the shots aren’t falling. Difference is this Celtics team is perfectly constructed to allow the pressure to come off his shoulders.

As a Celtics fan first and a basketball fan second, Luka had an incredible game that really made me feel like we were losing this game but the scoreboard never reflected it and that shocked me! I read your tweet at half time and felt the exact same way cause it felt like they had played an amazing game at that point. Yep it's a little difficult to be the best player on the court offensively and play like a generational talent on defense as well. Take one give one and I can live with that. I don't expect him to soar over people for blocks that's Gafford and Lively's jobs, and I also don't expect him to lob the ball to himself. And let me rephrase your comment for you. The mavs did some adjustments, they attack KP by clearing out the strong side so the Celtics can’t pre switch, and they also run a couple of double drags. But overall the Celtics just have too many good defenders and not like the wolves, they also have really high defensive awareness

Gobert, Conley and Anderson are the only guys who have good awareness about what’s going on the defensive side, Ant, Mac and kat are good on ball defenders and can hold their own against isolations, but they often sleep on off ball movements, and constantly match the wrong guy in early offensive, and Gobert has to clean their shit up

To me from watching, I’d say if the Celtics close it out, Tatum would be my choice for MVP! Everything is going through him for the Celtics offense and making the right play! His assists don’t tell the whole story either because of the hockey assists/extra passes! Now hopefully we will see a couple of better scoring games (since that’s all that seems to matter to some). But the Celtics have been amazing

Like you said it's just a such a small margin for error, and I agree that Luka has had some pretty lackluster defense. But like you said I can't really fault him since he's 95% of the offense at the moment and I just don't know how you expect him to give that kind of effort both ways for more then a quarter before he's exhausted. Think he needs to work on stamina this off season so that it isn't as much of an issue going forward. Truth be told if role players on Dallas have another lackluster shooting performance id say fuck it and let Luka take all the shots just to see what happens cause they've been a let down completely so far from the 3 point line
