The Judds on Sally Jessy Raphael Show in the 80's. This one is a lot of fun to watch as a very young Ashley and grandmother Polly join in on the conversation and share family pictures. The Judds also perform Have Mercy.

After googling the Judds on Sally Jesse Raphael, IMDb shows it as March 5th 1986.

This video is from 1985. The is the year they won an award for Why Not Me. My friend and I spoke, she asked if they get along and I just wished that Sally had an hour show so that we could hear more from the Judds!. After the show, we were in a long car line waiting to leave and Naomi came up to our car and spoke with us and thanked us for coming and listening to their music! Naomi was very sweet and Winona just stood back and did not say anything. But Naomi would have talked longer to us, we were very excited that she came and talked to us.

Naomi was so kind, thoughtful and loving. A rare gem. I wish the world was more like her. A genuine beauty. I miss you.

Tell me about it. I have so many fond memories of growing up. I get very nostalgic thinking of days gone by. Grew up listening to The Judds.

if Ashley was about to be a senior in high school as she said, this was probably 1985.

Well, I was standing in line at the city bus stop Soaked to the skin from ev'ry rain drop I see you driving by just like a phantom jet With your arm around some little brunette You say you won't be home because you're working late Honey, I'm no fool, you've been out on a date The lipstick on your collar gives your game away It's strawberry red and mine's pink rose Have mercy on me You treat me so bad I'm in misery It's breaking my heart, can't you see Baby, baby have mercy on me Well, I called you up on the telephone I could hear you was playin' Haggard and Jones I knew right then that there was something wrong There's only one reason you play cheatin' songs Have mercy on me You treat me so bad I'm in misery It's breaking my heart, can't you see Baby, baby have mercy on me Well, I called you up on the telephone Well, I went to the bank with my little check book The cashier, he gave me the strangest look He said, You ain't got no money 'cause you're over drawn Your man took it all and he's done gone! Have mercy on me You treat me so bad I'm in misery It's breaking my heart, can't you see Baby, baby have mercy on me Well, I called you up on the telephone

I got married at the age of 14 years old. And it didn't last long. Then I got married at the age 15 years old the second time. Had my first child at 16 years old and had my second child at 17 years old. And so turned 18 years and gave birth to my second child.

Thanks for the blast from the past. I actually met Naomi while she was on a book tour after writing her first book, "Love Can Build a Bridge", back in 1994 at the Mall of America. Already read Wynonna's book in 2007, and I still have to read Ashley's, and Naomi has a couple of other books. Glad I got to hear them at a reunion concert.

We lost the Judd matriarch on Saturday April 29, 2022 to mental illness. She and Wynonna were scheduled to be inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame the following day. They were also scheduled to go on tour one last time as a reunion/farewell tour this upcoming fall . R.I.P. Naomi Judd
