This was the same relationship I had with my moma...she was an old school nurse and I was a party girl....she raised me by herself and I was an only child. We loved each other with a passion but fought really hard, if I had ten hours to spend telling what a wonderful moma she was, it still wouldn't be enough time....5 yrs ago, she could no longer by herself and the Lord mercifully granted us 3 yrs of peace and love to round out her life..she passed away on February 21, 2020...life for me without her has been the hardest thing I've ever had to endure but praise to the Lord, He has walked hand in hand with me...

R.I.P Naomi. My heart goes out to both Wynonna and Ashley. I hope that just like her diagnosis of Hepatitis C was used for good and to bring awareness and to end some of the stigma attatched, her death will be used in the same way. The Judds are part of rhe soundtrack of my childhood. It was not my music, but my moms and now it always makes me feel nostalgic and wistful for the simpler times of the 80s, before the internet before cell phones, when kids always played outside on their blocks and their parents felt safe letting them do it. The Judds were the foundation that some of the most influential names in country music built their own sound. There are so many famous Country singers that you can hear The Judds influence. They will always be considered to be one of the all time greats. I truly pray for peace and healing for the Judd sisters and all those that loved Naomi. She will truly be missed 💔💔💔

The one thing she didn't win was the ability to be happy. If you you lose joy and feel hopeless then none of those things mean anything to her. It's terrible and at the very least, people who don't believe in depression may open their eyes that no matter how much great things in your life, it can mean nothing. I've dealt with depression and at times it is so severe that there's nothing I could have that would allow me to appreciate it. It's a cruel disease. It's almost as if there's a wall in front of your brain that will not let anything positive pass through. RIP, Naomi. You didn't deserve this illness nor does anyone else.

There is another clip on YT where she speaks about "Grandpa"-- her Great Grandpa was a murderer who killed himself in front of his two sons; her Grandmother, Evie, she described as a "peach" who killed her husband (Naomi's Gpa) before running away with her lover, who "accidentally" died in an accident just a few months later. She said she thought of these memories every time they performed. I thought that was crazy how the actual meaning/inspiration behind a song that is a favorite of so, so, so many people is just such a crazy backstory... I think you can find the video if you search for "you can't make this shit up Naomi Judd"- it was a mental health awareness type event, and a very interesting look at Naomi's struggles in life, in her own words. 💜

My mother was also incredibly beautiful and looked more like a sister than a mother. At times I loved it and would show her off, but the majority of the time I simply wanted a mom like everyone else. I don't know if it was because of their beauty and being told so all of their lives...but my mother was a lot like this in personality as well. Competitive..with me. Let me tell you that my daughter has never experienced that even once. I mean the little boys in her school would tease her about her "hot" mom, but I never acknowledged that. I was and am her mom first and foremost and for the life of me can't imagine ever trying to steal her spotlight.

I wonder how much nurses made where she was, back then. My mom is a nurse. Since 87 or 88. I think she said her very first job as an RN was like 8.50, maybe 10.50. At a small hospital in central Florida. 💕

"Cry Myself To Sleep"; "Blue Nun Cafe": "Have Mercy;" "I Wish She Wouldn't Treat You That Way;" --- The Christmas Album -- so beautifully arranged! "Silver Bells" was a song I couldn't stand done by anyone else but the Judds -- I could go on and on.

Met them in the late 80s. They were staying in a hotel behind my restaurant and I took food to them. Very sweet and great tippers.

@@keithclark486 i remember that Wynonna ordered our smothered chicken and it was our best dish so I'm pretty sure she ate it. I think Naomi ordered our mini pizza but don't quote me. They tipped us $50 which was a lot back in late 1980s

I just saw her speak to a group like a TED talk. This show is glossing over Naomi's life. When her family found out she was present she was kicked out of the house at 5 months pregnant. Her dad left her mom and her mom attempted suicide.

I love Wynonna! Naomi not so much. If you read any of Wynonna’s books or especially Ashley’s books you will see that Momma Naomi is a very self centered manipulative person. Obviously there is a reason her and Wynonna fought so much when they toured together,Long before Wynonna discovered the truth about her biological father. I can’t imagine lying about that until your child is in her early 30’s. The first book I read about them was Love Can Build A Bridge, it was supposed to be about BOTH of them and their rise to fame. Instead it was filled with lies and embellishments about Naomi’s early days and lots of Naomi praising herself and taking all the credit for making them a success when it’s obviously Wynonna that carries all the talent. Have you ever heard Naomi do a solo song on any album, no, because she’s the diva that struts around and hums a few harmony notes.Wynonna is the powerhouse! Naomi will never admit she is wrong or apologize for anything. It’s a few generations of dysfunction in that family and who doesn’t have a little of that in their family also? I would have had a lot more respect for Naomi if she was just honest from the beginning. Ashley Judd’s book tells a lot about what kind of mother she was.

Reading River Of Time shed a lot of light on Naomi and her honest revelations regarding her personality and mental health. Naomi always knew Wynonna was a power house but lacked the self confidence to be a solo artist. That’s where Naomi stepped in to sing harmonies until Wy was ready to soar. I think Naomi is very intuitive and knows her daughters very well. Wy and Ashley have both been very successful in their careers- that is because of their mama.
@artismyheart48863 жыл бұрын
@@jodybobo I read River of time, because I have a daughter who suffers from depression and anxiety. I was hoping for more insight on the subject but I felt like Naomi focused more on bragging about her success and patting herself on the back, I really felt like the book was more about building up her image. She brushed off the subject of Wynonna’s birth father as basicly a needy one night stand because her brother was dying of cancer.Nothing more was said, certainly not any apologies about lying to Wynonna for 30 yrs. As for the girl’s success, yes, they have had great careers but their personal lives are a mess. I don’t think Ashley is even acting anymore?

I’m not sure why, but I always kind of felt like Wynona was the trouble maker; stubborn, bull headed, contrary, negative, and un-empathetic. And very boyish. But after watching Naomi explain about her own youth and the traumas she encountered in life, it did help me understand why she seems a little odd at times.

Amazing talent and ambition. I wish I had that drive to write. I always say someday. Naomi had so many losses which could have caused her depression. Also could have had had Aspergers which enabled her to prosper in her talent. Many writers and singers have a hard time socializing but they sure can sing. Only God knows Why!

From working with Asperger's students, I don't think she had it. After finding out she was sexually molested as a 3 year old, I think that's what affected her. Theres a great Interview on you tube, with Naomi, and one of the news show hosts.
