The Juliana, a Victorian doll house and a dream come true

Artist Vicky Bickel talks about The Juliana which she finished many years after Julie Poland began constructing it. In the late 1980’s, when Julie was in high school student, she started building the Victorian doll house with her father VCU professor of physiology Jim Poland. At age 26, Julie was killed in a car accident. Jim and Jerry Poland and their daughter Jenny Poland collaborated with Bickel, who finished the doll house over the past seven years in Bickel's studio at the Hanover Arts & Activities Center in Ashland, Va.
