That’s because there is probably a hand full in the whole country. The good cops get pushed out by bad ones and there is plenty of them. They are order followers not moral followers. Bad cops rarely lose their jobs, if they do they move to another dept, or retire with full pay. Now days we get to see all the dirty criminal actions on video. And they still get away with it. The justice system is not fair.

@briandillon22744 ай бұрын
The problem is that as the prosecutor tried to say if you just use your "common sense" you would "know when someone is drunk without a breath test". So without having any more evidence than "you look messed up man" he wanted a guilty verdict. Heck, I bet he thought the defendent really was guilty. In that case he still should have thought about "is this a case we can win with this evidence". You are so right. it should never have even gone to trial.

There is a case that just came out in the news where a man called police and reported that his father took his dog out for a walk and the dog came back alone. The cops took the son in for questioning and 17 hours later the man confessed to killing his father. During the questioning the cops told him that they found the fathers body in a pool of blood and the dog had blood on its feet. They told the guy to say God bye to his dog because they were going to have it put down because it witnessed the killing. The man has mental health issues and couldn't take anymore Nazi style interrogation and didn't want hgs dog out down. He made up a story of how he killed his father just to end it all. They looked him up . He was in jail for two weeks before they told him that they found his father a long time ago alive and well at the guys sisters house. He settled for $900,000. All of the cops involved still have their jobs except one who is now collecting his pension. Every case these cops were ever involved in should be reopened. This is how disgusting law enforcement is. They should all be serving the same sentence the guy was going to get

I really appreciate how the judge handled this case and herself. We need more like her that is fair and open minded just how someone in her position are supposed to act. So often the police and prosecutors rely on the fact that people won’t hire a proper attorney and take the case to trial that when it happens they are lost and so out of practice in procedure that cases are easily won.

This trial is an example of why you need to hire a lawyer to defend against exaggerated charges and poor investigative skills of some police officers. It is sad that the citizen was denied the right to drive for all this time. He also had to come up with $6,000.00 for his lawyers and all the court costs. There has to be a better way to get these cases settled. When you have the money for a good lawyer, you get a chance at justice. If you don't have the money, you lose your civil rights for a fair trial, in my opinon.

@@jaywinner328 If we had mandatory Informed Jury Instructions for Jury Nullification, a lot of these would simply be dropped. Jury is the final arbiter of Justice, and as such have a DUTY to not uphold any unjust law or any law applied unjustly, and declare the state as irrelevant by a "not guilty" verdict, even if the facts support the law. Harboring a runaway slave was once against the law, and that law itself was unjust.
