I'll be honest, is it Kansas City Chiefs fan I absolutely love this. Currently our punter, Tommy townsend, is an unrestricted free agent. And he deserves a very big contract because he's earned it, he's one of the best punters in the league. Unfortunately he's not going to be able to get the kind of contract that he wants and deserves from Kansas City. They've got too many other free agents that need to be signed first and there's just not going to be enough money for everybody. So this is where win-win for everybody. The new kid gets a chance and he gets to play for a Super Bowl caliber team, Tommy Townsend gets to go get the big contract that he deserves, and the Kansas City Chiefs get to fill the need without having to pay out through the nose for a quality punter❤

I have been a Chiefs fan since 1987. I love this about the Chiefs. They will take a low risk flyer on a player that is trying to get their life straight. We have a great punter already, but if we can improve a position at a reduced cost is all the better. Will help us resign more positions of need this year and some years to come. He (not the public) knew that he was showcasing his skills in the SB for a new team to take him in....he showed his stuff and he'll be fine wherever he goes...he can also hold for placekickers and throw fake punt passes! Tommy T is one of the best punters in the NFL and because of that is due a big contract as a free agent. The Chiefs can’t pay everyone. Signing Araiza makes sense because he’s cheaper than Townsend and potentially the same level or even better. This gives the Chiefs needed breathing room to bring back Sneed and pay Chris Jones. Now they just have to figure out how to keep Drew Tranquil and Willie Gay.
