See this excellent tumbler machine which has number of different uses. A good solid well made machine ideal for stone polishing, jewellery cleaning, deburring engineering components and work hardening metals. SEE LINK BELOW:-

I have this device and I must say that it works well, especially for the price. Haven't had a lick of trouble from it in a few months of use making jewelry.

One thing about this tumbler - the electrics inside are all mains voltage, but there's no earth. That makes it potentially *VERY* dangerous - especially when you consider that it's designed to be operated with water in the barrel. Any short to the body from one of the many uninsulated terminals inside (which could well come loose, because the components are only screwed in place) will mean 240v running through your body, your domestic ring main fuse won't blow, and it won't trip your house's RCD. My advice would be to replace the mains cable ASAP with 3 core and connect the earth lead securely to the metal body of the machine. Something like this should really be running off 12v or 24v with an external transformer.

could stick some copper wire in the earth on the power point and the other end attach an alligator clip and clip it onto the body of the machine

It should still trip your rcd, by the current going to earth through your body. However, the rcd won’t trip if the case (assuming a metal case) becomes live.

Would’ve been nice to see what the machine could do, and how long to do it, to polish stones etc? Nice presentation though. 🇬🇧👍

Ours stops periodically every now and then in between cycles and it will only go again with a light tap to make it move again. Is there anything you suggest we try to stop this from happening ?

Is your tumbler still working. I had to replace belt twice, now it will turn on but won’t turn. Only used about 12 times to burnish jewellery, only use 1 pound steel shot, and a little water not near the 3lb acceptable level.

Such a brilliant review, thanks for going into such detail! I have just bought mine and without this I wouldn't have a clue how it works. The piece of paper it comes doesn't explain very much. Mine came with a 3-pin plug - does that mean it's earthed?

You're reviewing a piece if equipment, we would like to see some actual performance of what it can do. Some before and after shots of some parts going in it, for example. Just hearing lip service to the item really doesn't offer any insight. Don't be afraid to get the shot wet, that's what it's there for.

Any reason you wouldn't put a couple of nuts on those threaded posts. if you are worried about the threads stripping?

Is there a way to bypass the timer? (other than crudely jamming the dial, which is totally what I'm going to do if I can't find a better way). 1 hour isn't too useful.

I expect you could take the wires off the timer and join them. I can't look at mine because I sold it.
