@ I just found today that if I start my backswing with a more outside the line feeling that I’m able to hit the ball effortlessly. It’s kind of like the circle of speed you talk about. It is similar to a reverse loop I guess. Basically opposite of the over the top loop where people start inside and finish across the line. Would you recommend this start of the backswing? It feels really natural to me with a straight ball flight or slight draw as the result.

@ Looking in a mirror It was actually the club head slightly outside my hands at the start of my backswing. It feels like its way outside because I guess my first move was setting the club head parallel with my hands on the backswing. Thanks for replying. There are no bad shots after following your advice. Thank you Marcus for encouraging me to think about what I am supposed to do to achieve a particular result, eg the in to our downswing -- I reversed this concept in the backswing- I swing my hands away from my body but the rotation of my shoulders “brought the club on plane” and my follow through/downswing felt effortless. I may not be getting a decent draw but my dispersion is narrower. I will continue to work on achieving the draw. Thanks again Stephen

Marcus I’ve been studying and implementing your teachings and my results are all very very good and this video could be the missing part of the Marcus swing to insure a correct movement I may have been doing it and correct me if I’m wrong but on the start of my downswing of the COS ( circle of speed) I hold my trail side in a feeling as my COS is going down and out to a 45 degree angle and at that point the feeling of the club is now starting to travel on my desired swing path line somewhat lesser then 45 degrees and then at that point I start to release my body to turn on my target line and try to hold the body from to much rotation enough so the club can finish my COS on my swing path and out to a high finish and not pull the shot but have a baby draw Man I hope you understood all that because feel and real is a strange combination to grasp and explain Marcus would you consider getting in into detail what muscles are you using with names of them The body is everything in the swing and I for one would like to know them and I’m sure I’m not alone here You got a lot of people motivated so let’s get into the weeds and talk about the parts that makes it all happen Knowing them and feeling them in the movement is a great understanding what the body should be doing in the Marcus swing There’s some good 3D skeleton and muscle videos on KZbin that shows the golf swing but hearing from you what makes your concept work would turn on a bunch of light bulbs … I think so do you? 👍⛳️👍

Hi Marcus, massive fan of you and your teachings, just come back from practicing (from a cold and wet Newcastle England) used your key moves Swing Up, Down then Rotate. Started hitting quality tight draws with a 7 iron using this technique. Then went to a 5 iron and got the correct swing path with the ball starting to the right of target (I am right handed golfer) but would not draw back in- how frustating!! I keep a notebook containing all your great advice, I watch all your videos numerous times, so had a quick look and tried your fundamental tip that you want us to hit a push draw. So starting swinging with more emphasis on pushing the club with my rear arm - Success !! began hitting a long high draw. Please keep up the good work - Merry Christmas to you and your family Cheers Martin

I have been working with your swing concepts for about 2 months. I was making great progress but felt something was missing. I have always suffered with a spinout on my low confidence days. Even with your swing concepts I had spinout holes too often. Since I have a massive playlist of your videos l kept going back looking for what I was missing. My eureka moment came when I took your "push the club away from the target" seriously and tried it in practise. My very first hits were amazing. Straight, high, far, shallow, and no spinout. I even am beginning to see the odd draw shot. Looking at it logically now I realize why. My lead side has no inclination to start the downswing by pulling if I need to keep weight on my trail side to support a backward cast of the club. Now I recognize a spinout as a failure to fire away from the target. Now l can correct that flaw on the next swing as I know it was a focus flaw, not a process misunderstanding. You were correct in your videos when you said the brain has to understand before the body cooperates on the task.

Hi Marcus, really find your teachings very useful. The concept here in this video is key for me. I come down and "chop" on the ball with an out-to-in path on all my clubs (I see it clearly in a sim). When I try to do what you explain, it works, but it is very difficult to repeat for me. When done correctly, I feel like my downswing (I am a lefty like you...right handed, but hit left-handed) moves away and down from me, while my body feels like moving forward...extremely confusing from the way I usually hit!! Any hints on how to make that transition of downswing "away and down" with body moving forward easier? :) Thank you

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Thank you, will keep at it! I believe your idea of "extending" the bent trail arm earlier for me is key as I move down...when I do the club seems to release earlier for me, and my path becomes much more neutral at that point, with a better hit...my usual out-to-in path forces me to flip my hands, which usually leads to disaster...

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad This is interesting. Most pro golfers shift. their weight a little laterally toward he target an instant BEFORE their backswing ends. See:kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmPMnnarf6aNedk But you seem to get well into. your downswing with your weight still on your back foot/. This is very interesting. and obviously effective for you. I. am impressed and tomorrow I am going to the range and hit balls allowing the weight to stay on the trail leg through impact . Does this work for irons, too?

I will start with this and see if there is any interest. In the long run there could be a online zoom lesson but the time difference is a challenge.
