I just made 400 kilos do it every week, You should take them when the grains just start to split. These are a little raw still need a little more cooking. Gypsum is for shiitake you may get better results from using 50% gypsum and 50% calcium carbonate, you may get even better results using just calcium carbonate and no gypsum. You need to try a little with all your strains, for example, Pleurotus hates gypsum, etc.
@dustinocallaghan75702 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I actually do a 12 hour soak and a soft boil for 8-9 minutes with rye

Its really and truly a learn as you go kind of thing. The best "tips and insider tricks" come from personal trial and error, my first time ever growing mushrooms not knowing anything i harvested 4 ounces dry from two flushes of purple mystics. If I had known to soak the block I could have got way more and for me personally pinning conditions were very confusing but after one grow i know exactly how to create a sick ass pinset and what cause pins to form. Get out there and do it, if your even slightly intelligent it will come so fast.
@lingping63283 жыл бұрын
I also cant stress enough, STERILIZE STERILIZE STERILIZE. ISOPROPYL Alcohol is your best friend. Be liberal af with it as well.
@Kasherrrr2 жыл бұрын
Honestly you weren't missing out on much, the last couple flushes are much weaker potency wise than the first 2. Those flushes would most likely disappoint you or those yours sharing with. But sometimes they can still be decent

Hi, I found a substrate recipe! What do you think: Rye grain, bird seed mix (including flax seed), brown rice flour, a few spoons of vermiculite. Would this work? I think it's good food for the hungry mycelium. Please give me your opinions, thanks in advance

hey what was the room temp when you where drying your grains? if your in the P.N.W. and especially if your above sea-level they will dry at completely different rates, but really if you include your preferred room temp that could drastically help some that may not know better.

Man I'm so very grateful for this and all your great content. Q. I'd love to hear any comments you have about why it's important to soak the grains first, instead of going directly to a shorter time on the stove? The overnight soak adds a bunch of time, and I have had some decent results eliminating that step. Love and learn ✌️
@stephenhooper57042 жыл бұрын
The overnight soak allows yeasts, fungi, mold, and bacterial spores to begin their life cycle meaning they go into the pressure cooker exactly when all your inocculant’s future competitors are at their most vulnerable. It also helps avoid burst grains.
