Wonton noodle is my favourite type of noodles. Hakka noodles are next and Rice noodle third.

Instead of olive oil, you could also try bacon oil and a touch of dark soy sauce (salty, not sweet type).

In the video "Dad's Cantonese Chow Mein" at 6:00 minutes dad suggests steaming . Can you clarify the reason for the differences. He said boiling will make them mushy.

Steaming instead of boiling allows for the noodles to cook, and it will take more time, but the noodles will absorb less water than if cooked in the boiling water. This helps the noodles to get crunchy when frying :D but if not fried, the noodles might be a little tough and leathery in texture, not pleasurable for soup.

It’s so easy to mess up and overcook wonton noodles. When overcooked they stick into clump together and become impossible to eat

I think a "then" could've helped it transition the loop better. "If you don't know where to start, then" "Let's learn how to cook like a Chinese chef"

It's a trend for tik tok scripts to be written in a way that it can self reference so the video loop makes sense. So the last sentence is meant to connect to the first sentence. It's mind blowing at first but now I'm not really a big fan of it..

If you don't know where to start, the first thing to do is to gather the ingredients. Of course we need two pots (one for hot water, one for cold), noodles, and then whatever it is you want to eat with the noodles. I like to use the leftover soup from the instant noodles xD but you can use whatever you want

Shallot oil or garlic oil are both great. In my region I haven't seen sesame oil with wanton noodles tho :( we usually use sesame oil for congee but I know Koreans love sesame oil on a lot of things, rice is one of them.
