I'm still not sure why he dislikes the mini so much... I love it, I have plenty of olights and this one has it's place.... connected to my bag! And its actually the perfect amount of light I need for its use!

Thanks for your comment. It just falls in a weird spot for me. There are tons of cheaper lights (even from olight) that have better output and my phone light has 50 lumens. Not to say that it has no use but it wouldn’t be my pick if I had to buy one. $20 feels a bit high for it and I would guess they have it as a giveaway in the future.

I do have it on my key chain for it's function, besides my edc flashlight. I agree it's not worth the $20 dollar price tag but it is a nice convenient light. I do like Olights but there are cheaper lights out there with the same comparable lumens and candela.

I think this light is good for an edc pouch or a bag. As far as using it for anything else? Maybe if you were in a pinch. Better lights out there but I agree it definitely has its place in a edc scenario. Might be a good map reading light.

I actualy did a run time on this light and it was still putting out bright light after 4 hours. I use a power bank to charge mine. If after the red charging light goes out and the blue full charge light doesn’t show, you’re not fully charged and won’t get the long run time…

I use mine for work. I manage AV multimedia equipment and this small light is perfect. It is portable and I carry it in my badge lanyard. It isn’t super bright (like a handheld flashlight), but it is great for examining equipment in a network/AV rack! And it is always conveniently attached to my lanyard!! It isn’t heavy, so it is almost undetectable (for me) but is always close by. This ain’t a good handheld flashlight, so it has its purpose. But it works great - been using it for a year and it is solid!

Also if you're going to be comparing light's to each other, best to lock your camera exposure settings, to better accurately show the brightness. That way your camera doesn't automatically adjust to the current lighting exposure

I don't know why you felt the need to make a 9 minute video, dogging the iMini 2, but I had to give that video a thumbs down. 👎🏻 I have a BUNCH of flashlights and the iMini 2 is my most used light. Granted, my use for it is a bit unique to my situation, but it still has many handy uses. I use it to get my mail at night from a communal mailbox and I attach it to the lock hardware on the backside of the door and it shines right into the mail slot. It's perfect for me and I love it. By the way, the only Olight I've ever returned, is the Oclip. It's definitely not worth $30.

Fenix e01 v2 15$ takes 1 aaa battery that you can find just about anywhere and has long runtimes along with a 100 lumen max output...vs 20$ for a proprietary light where if the charging base gets damaged your screwed and developes flickering issues and quality control problems....hmm i'll take the fenix or if i wanted to go cheaper the i3e sorry but the price the imini2 isn't justifiable for how overpriced it is for how few features..plus built in battery that can't be replaced...big problem with that cause it locks you into an arbitrary warranty just to replace a battery.

I actually prefer the beam pattern that it floods rather than throws becuae I’m an inspector and need such flashlights for inspections. Hi. I just ordered it for my mother, for her keyring. i bought her a Nitecore Tini, a Nitecore Thumb then a LedlenserK4R. All 3 not proper for the job! Tini and Ledlenser activate too easy, i tried them on my keyring after my mom told me, the Thumb sometimes dont start if 1st i dont press the butyon for red light! Imini2 will be perfect, cant start by itself and being magnetic she can put it to the metal frame of the door to luminate the lock! She rejected an Olight i5 StarDust cause the switch is hard to press. And it is!

I would wear it around my neck. I used to carry a neck knife as a back up, but found I rarely used it. This light I can see using. Sometimes I just need a little light so pulling out my 800 lumens flashlight most of the time is overkill and my back up is attached to my keys which I have to grab from my jacket pocket anyways. Plus I have to twist it to turn it on. With this little guy I can just grab, pull, light, done. Very convenient.

How does anyone expect more than 50 lumens from a keychain flashlight? A keychain light is small and is meant to help in tight quarters. The light is used to look for keys and does this job great. There is nothing wrong with this light. It is fantastic and does the job magnificently.

I have the mini and love it. Every Olight has its application. I am a surgical nurse and some surgeries require dim lighting. It is not big and bulky and the magnet is a plus when I need to free up my hands and make adjustments to equipment when the room is pretty dark. I am not trying to use this light in a dark forrest. I have other Olights for that.

I would totally buy it, I carry keys daily to work and always thought what if there's an emergency and lights cut out on the wearhouse, I already have the other olight that you twist to turn it on but it's difficult to twist and turn it on and if it's an emergency I'm thinking it would be harder to do it. This would totally be easy to just grab it disconnect it and boom light turns on ...I don't care if it's less Lumens, the point is to get it quick and turn it on and be able to use it and walk in a emergency so this has its place I would not carry the others around because I would lose it fast because I'm constantly taking my keys out to cut boxes and I always make my pen or other small things fall out of my pockets so this is a super good thing for my use. I also always need a magnetic base light so I can use it quick in a hands free situation like stuck in place where I need both hands to work with and can attach it to a metal surface....I can see my self using it for so many things.

Indeed, this light isn't for walking around in the dark. I can find a use-case scenario for it. I play nighttime airsoft, and I might just need a little light like this one to switch my MAWL C1 from white to IR light before or during a game.
@justreider

It doesn't appear that you appreciate the pro's of this light or understand the point of it. The i3e is brighter, especially with a 10440 lithium battery in it (it voids the warranty), but it basically requires two hands to operate. You can rig it for one hand use, but it's not ideal. The imini 2 is a quick access key chain light that is great for one handed operation and it has a magnet on the back of it, so you can stick it to metal if you need or want to. Olight also has monthly flash sales etc.. so it may be discounted at some point in the future. If your keys are on your belt or if the light is on a lanyard or zipper etc.. it's a very handy light in many situations and it won't break the bank. Also, even though it's only 50 lumens, this light would work in a pinch for a late night (or early morning) dog walk.

I don't actually carry mine, I leave it plugged into the USB-A port in my car's center console. It basically serves as a docked flashlight, always fully charged, always reachable, no switches or buttons. Pull it and it's on. There is no better flashlight on the market for this purpose. There are dozens of clever applications for a light with this unique form factor and feature set, all you need is a little imagination.

Its on my necklace and pretty much sits there 24/7. i take it off to charge. I also feel like i should mention I bought mine on sale for like $15. It is my most used flashlight because its the one on me at all times lol. I even have a piece of electrical tape around it so i can tooth it better xD I definitely agree though that If you're out to purchase a heavy use, or good edc light, i would throw down some extra ducats to a better suited light. Instant light once it’s pulled out of the slot, and it has a magnetic base. I have a classic truck, non existent interior lights. I have my mini attached to my keychain, no buttons, nothing, instant light once I pull it from the keys. Lightweight, magnetic base, easy to turn on, very useful as a work light in tight spaces as well, used it repairing a leak under the sink.

Also, there's an USB port near my desk, and sometimes I need a flashlight at my desk to find what I dropped.

Perfect to clip on a jacket or vest zipper. Hassle free charging to illuminate well enough for its intended purpose. I 100% love this little fella. Works great. I have many other lights that I use for their intended purpose as well. Would grab this light to run out in a blizzard on a storm work call? No. Or my only light on a weekend back pack trip? Your tone for this entire review just sounds like you are bitter about the mini for some reason 😂. When something is called a “mini”, it’s considered a mini versus another size of the same brand. You don’t compare mini to another brand. Also, it’s half the size if not smaller than either of the other lights you showed when you take it off the magnet ring so what’s the issue? Yeah the # of lumens is lower on paper but from a visual comparison it’s not that much of a different sooo…

My point was not that 50 lumens is no lumens. Did I know there would be people that disagreed? Of course, but it doesn’t mean it wasn’t an honest opinion. I stand by the fact that I don’t think it is worth $20 but if somebody wants the light or has purchased it and loves it . . . that’s great.

Actually, I think you are saying that it is a bit pricey because you need to buy an extra. One, or more, to clip to whatever, and a spare one to keep charged so you can substitute the head of the flashlight into the rotation without forgetting to reclip the body. LOL. 🤣 Hmmm....maybe you on are to something. If one hardly ever needs to unclip to charge, one could hook it very closely. One other good point, how much fun you were having making this video. 🙃You only need one extra per household to open up all types of possibilities. 😉 As for cons, I'm not sure you mentioned that one may not be able to substitute out the battery, so once it finally wears out in a few years, you might have very little left of value. By that time, I imagine there will be something one wants more anyway, so in this price range it is not a big concern of mine. I like the instant on or off feature. It would be nice, addressing one of your points, if it had a five or so lumen mode and a 50 that one could adjust, yet stil have the instant on feature. In other words, set the level you generally prefer and that is when one gets when one pulls it out. So, one would still have instant light, but the lumen level could be adjusted, if one desired, by twisting the base of the light itself. Since I generally have a small EDC light anyway, such as a Perun 2 Mini, I do not really need more functionality. The iMini2 is just for a bit of quick light for me, either on a Ti ball chain, or on the pouch in which I keep my keychain. I am pleased with it. I lked it enough to buy one for my wife's keychain. I could also see one clipped to a bag/purse to quickly locate something in the bag/purse...such as those keys. Since the head is so small, with a strong magnet, one can mount it almost anywhere ferrous, say a ferrous wallboard corner bead, a wallplate screw, etc. I have stuck it to my bathroom cup and the other night I needed a bit of light and stuck it to a guitar I had hanging on the wall. Yeah, no power outage, I could have flipped on the light, but I was having fun...as you said, a good fidget toy. If it wears out, I'll at least have a good magnet. 😁

P.S. If I really needed a flashlight, as opposed to just a supplemental light, I do agree that the Oclip and i3E EOS might be more practical. I like the i3 E EOS especially after they began using double O-rings on them. The i3E weighs so little that I may try to spread them around more for travel*, such as in our car or the one in my Dopp bag. [*as opposed to the ones I have spread around as gifts] Since most of my lights use batteries that are harder to obtain or are integral (such as the Oclip), it is nice to have one you can drop a commonly available alkaleak into it if you are in a situation where you need more light. The one in my Dopp bag has a hybrid battery in it, either an eneloop or the Ikea equivalent. In the car, I might consider packing the battery separately, either a hybrid battery or an Energizer lithium primary battery. I avoid using alkaleaks as I have lost more electronics using those, including flashlights. In returning to add this comment, I realized that one of my i3E flashlights had the included alkaleak, oh the horror, which I will now sub out. The other night I was using my Perun 2 mini headlamp and realized the battery level indicator was red so I dropped it on the charger and just for experimental purposes tried, after turning the headband so the holder was on the side, using a Baton flashlight. It worked but was less than ideal. Then I tried the right angle Oclip with the holder returned to the front. I found that the corner of the light fit into the clip recess and provided a very good angle for use as a headlamp, although no longer had the flexibility of rotation. I really like that little Oclip.

Could not disagree with you more-I use this constantly all day long. I clip this to my front belt loop and whenever I need an area light, I pop it out for a minute. It weighs so little I can pop it in my mouth for an improvised headlamp (yep, I'm one of those mouth light guys). No pressing and holding, double pressing, any of that crap. Just pop it out and it's on, snap it back in and it's off.

Sorry, magnet keychains are $7, the comparable (if slightly brighter but also bulkier) light is $9...and $20 is an unreasonable price? Sorry, my math isn't adding up there. Yeah, you're paying about an extra $5 to not have a janky home-made setup that probably involves hot glue...but isn't that kinda worth 5 bucks? About the only reason I wouldn't buy it is that the guy I'm thinking of getting it for already has a nice pocket light that I got him earlier, so this one would be redundant. Also, he'd be more likely to need a light on the move where this one is clearly meant for someone who's working in an industrial environment where there's not great light, you're working on one stationary task, and there's metal nearby to attach it to as you work. That's not anyone I know of, but for people like that? By your own math, and _despite_ your conclusions, this is the cost-effective option.

Well... at first it is quite useless to do a light comparison, if you have auto exposure set to "on" in your camera. If you want to compare, you need manual adjustment, otherwise you can't tell differences. Second, I'm with you that the iMini 2 is too large in size. That's why I'm a fan of the iMini 1st generation. It is not rechargable but has 3 mini batteries in it which last very long. This is the most perfect keyring light I've ever had.

Yikes. Did you ever step in it with this review! Pretty much everyone here sees how the build quality, innovative design, coolness factor, and versatility make this mini light so worth its very reasonable price. But not you. You hyper-focused on the most irrelevant details and misunderstood this light’s intended purpose (many of which being cited in the comments). The 50 lumens is actually quite powerful … and this tool is also a great fidget toy.

trippin…50 lumens is more than enough for what its made for, 10x brighter then your phone light, and having that low output is good on battery life
