Like specify where.to adjust the hitting spot on the ball to get it.to go over from like tight sets and sets 1 yard off sets, etc, from different sections of the court etc. Ill never be on top of the ball spiking it straight down on a 50-50.

I agree and I see you are making a joke but practically speaking, you have to practice both and be good at both and if you are playing in a tournament with refs, set holding the ball as long as you can get away with without getting called. And it is a bit different how the refs call it in different parts of the world.
