You were probably doing this without thinking about it, but you also need to be in Park and have the brake pedal firmly depressed. Summary: In Park GT Mode Traction Control Off Both paddles held in Brake pedal pressed

Yes. All EVs with Sports Mode or equivalent have software that informs the driver of less range. The higher demand of energy is anticipated. In dual motor models both are engaged and software setting are changed to give max power. 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 RWD has Sports Mode, similar range adjustments from ECO to Normal to Sport modes.
