Just a little piece of advice. These type of portable air conditioners have a problem. The single pipe is the hot exhaust. It’s blowing hot air that it has sucked from inside the room. That air has to be replaced from within the room which means that it is sucking hot air from the outside. So as fast as it’s cooling down the air inside the room, it’s sucking hot air into the room from under the door or whatever. It only works properly if the unit is OUTSIDE THE ROOM pushing cold air into the room.

Exactly, very good explanation, many don’t get the serious inefficiencies of this type of aircon.
@hellohello8556Ай бұрын
Don't all types of air conditioners do this including home split systems, cars, RV roof mounted etc?
@tait6010Ай бұрын
It is meant to be outside. Hense the white tubes.
@HandleymanАй бұрын
@ no it’s not. The only controls are on top of the unit. How do you control it inside if the controls are outside? Plus, every other portable aircon explains how to put the exhaust out through the window, not the other way around.

@Handleyman it comes with a remote.

I'm always confused why portable aircons don't come with insulated exhaust pipes. I guess a good modification would be wrapping your own insulation on it.

Just clarifying you said it's $.88 so far to run ?... does that means so far since you've had it there for a couple of days or ......since you showed us on the video that literally 15 seconds of running? If that's the case that's extremely expensive $.88 for about 15 seconds would cost a fortune to run. A cheap hot blow heater in the middle of winter at .33cents per kWh (roughly normal costs of houses in Australia) is $.11 for 20 minutes of running a hairdryer is $0.01 cent for 10 minutes of running the most power consuming appliance of a house as a kettle that takes about $.25 to boil a jug of water .. So if you could just confirm that $.88 is for how long of that machine running thank you so much great video ;)

Hi mate. No. Not 15 seconds of running. 🙂. This was after running it for a day. Our tariff is 33cents per kWh. The product draws 400W. So if the cost is 33 cents per kWhr and the air conditioner uses 400W then the cost per hour works out to be 13.2 cents per hour based on my tariff. This works out to be that the AC had been run for 6 hours and 40 minutes using the meter to come out at 88 cents. If you have a lower tariff, your cost will be lower. But please note. Its not really designed for bedrooms. The space is too large.

Hi Rob Merry Christmas - 4c here in the UK I wish I could send you some Free Cold Air -To Keep my feet and legs warm, I use a mains 30watt ebay £4 Soldering Iron in a Old biscuit tin. Running cost = 39p for 1kW = 1000W / 30W = 33.333Hrs

i am having trouble connecting the big hose - is there a trick or tip, it is just not grabbing the attachment?
@acafwdАй бұрын
So it just screws in to the two ends. Is that the issue?

You don’t have a aircon on the roof of your caravan atm rob? If so why have 2 ?
@acafwdАй бұрын
The one on the roof draws 2kw this you can’t run it at all when off grid, where as this one I can use it to cool the caravan down when off grid as it is only 400W😀👍
