I came here from a recommendation by Chat GPT, I said I needed a song by The Killers for PTSD and here I'm listening to one of the most beautiful songs ever! I'm in the darkest places of my life right now and I was guided back to this wonderful band again, I know this is a sign and I know God doesn't want me to end my life by my own hands so here I'm. Thank you The Killers, thank you Brandon ❤

I really needed to find this song. Its not my typical listening but i discovered it at the right time. Winter has been brutal on my psyche... I've thought about dying every day for the last month... a grown man struggling to fight back tears at his job, it's been terrible. But this song... the lyrics, Brandon's voice and the mood of the instruments have all sparked a great sense of hope in me. I do believe my outlook has been positively influenced for good. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to The Killers.

Your comment along with the song made me tear up a little. I totally relate to everything you said. I've been recently struggling with high levels of anxiety, that just two months ago arose out of the blue. I've had several panic attacks in the last few weeks, something i never though would happen to me. In the first few weeks of my anxiety disorder i had to deal with very invasive and dark thoughts and emotions about death, and the uncertainty of my future (they still arise once in a while). Right about that time, a guy on Reddit (going through a similar situation to me, reccomended me to listen to this very song. He said: "it has this magical soothing quality for me, like musical Xanax". I couldn't agree more with that statement. This song isn't just music. It somehow speaks to the soul. It somehow reminds me that there is more to this life than just what we can see with our eyes. I sincerely hope you're feeling better now. By what you say it sounded like you really could use some CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). I've been taking it for a few weeks now, and along with other lifestyle changes, i've been feeling better. One day at a time. God bless.

I really can relate to what you are saying because I have been battling mental illness for years and ignoring it, but I have recently made a diligent effort to address it. I have made a lot of improvements over the last 4-5 months but I still have a long way to go to restore my mental wellness and strength. I remember coming to this song when I first made the decision to take my mental health seriously, and now I come back to it every now and then as a reminder to keep being strong and persevere. I know that was a long comment, but my point was that it is currently getting me through one of the most difficult times in my life right now, and I appreciate your comment. This song literally saved my life. I love the killers, about 8 years ago I downloaded this song, I never heard it before but I just did, I figured I liked the killers so I should enjoy it. One night I was ready, I was done. I was driving my truck around three in the morning I was on an one lane highway. It goes straight for a while and then there is a left turn to go back into town. I had decided I wasn't going to turn and I was just going to go off the cliff and be done. I already made videos saying goodbye to the people I loved, explaining why I did what I did . I just couldn't do it anymore. Anyway the song had already started and I was confused as to what song was playing, I thought to myself "I don't even know the song I'm going to die to" I was already driving, took my hands off the wheel, and closed my eyes and as I listened to the words I began to cry, I felt every word down in my soul. Hearing everything I needed to hear before it was too late. I nearly missed the turn but I put my hands back on the wheel, jerked the wheel and turned. I drove home listening to this song on repeat. I know if it had been any other song that came on I wouldnt be here. Thank you to the killers. For saving my life.

Two years ago, one of my close friends was admitted to the hospital from an overdose while I was in college in another city. I was told be a relative of his he had a 50/50 chance of living. I was so terrified of him dying on me and me not being able to say anything to him before I came home. He is and was always a very quiet and reserved person, but to people he knew, he was always a hoot. Thankfully he made it alive, but all I did for two weeks was listen to this song as if I was saying it to him. The world didn't need to see an innocent life take itself out. I don't know why he did what he did, but I know he was hurting and lost. All I did was listen to this song and hope he made it. A powerful song for all who feel they're lost in life. You are never lost. Don't break character and rise up like the sun. Just like my friend.

Absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, The Killers' best song! Like so many of you, I heard this song at a severely difficult time in my life, and what a beautiful rare gem it was was to find (I bought the album on iTunes 'cause I was a big Killers fan back then; still am). I know some people were somewhat disappointed that Battle Born was not as guitar driven as past albums, but for some reason, I didn't mind it at all. I loved Brandon's voice throughout the whole thing, enjoyed its calm and pondering on your life themes. And then "Be Still" comes on, and it was like as if The Killers made a song about my current situation and mood in my life! A song dedicated to me! I sobbed like a baby... Cried during the whole bus ride, heading to a place I really didn't want to go to back then. I still cry to this song often, and if I'm with company I try not to play it so I don't start crying all of a sudden in front of them. It is just, a beautiful song, about perseverance, life, never giving up, faith, love. "Don't break character, you got a lot of heart" just breaks me, every single time 💔. One of the few song that made me cry. If any of you are struggling through life, keep listening to this song, you are all very, very special, and you need to keep going, so that you get the life you derserve, not the hell or current situation you are living in! I'm in a better place, still not in the best of places, but there is a great amount of room for improvement. And what would life be, if we didn't have the chance of improving ourselves? You are all precious, stay blessed guys.

This year I went to college, I was so anxious about the experience, I always thought that things would be easy, cause I always thought of me as a self-regulated person (always very responsible, and kind of a nerd as some people might say). I've tried so hard just to pass all the courses, but it hasn't worked at all, I stopped caring about the things that are important to me; my hobbies, my friends and my family, damn, I was so frustrated (and I'm still kinda am). I've always listened The Killers, mostly the known songs, but about 2-3 months ago, I started listening 24/7. I remember that I was studying when this song appeared, and same as you, I couldn't stop crying, I just couldn't help it, I was so frustrated and this song made me explode. Thanks to The Killers I try not to giving up so fast, I know college is not easy at first (because that's what everyone says), and now I realize too that are other situations where people really suffer. Maybe this is a drop in the sea compared to your problems, and I kind of stupid complaining about this, anyway, I hope you're doing fine now, and keep looking for happiness. :)

This song is getting me through some tough times right now. I've made a lot of career changes the past year. I'm 37 years old, single, with no kids, and I live away from all of my family members and nieces and nephews. I am currently in my second year of college to get my Registered Nursing degree, and this semester has been super rough. I put a lot of pressure on myself, and this semester has torn my spirits down after being a straight A student for the last year. Classes are hard this semester and the mixture of that while being away from my family, and having nobody local to turn to for help or guidance, or just having someone in my life to comfort me, has been super hard. This song is bringing much needed comfort to my soul right now, and giving me the desire to just try harder knowing I will get through it. Thank you Killers for such a powerful song!

This is my favorite song from the killers. I’ve been though so much in my life. From domestic violence with my ex husband to very bad anxiety attacks and the worst of all my boyfriend committing suicide right in front of me. But this song along with my 3 lovely kids just keeps me going.😢😢

:(. I moved away from town for college, couldn't take my labrador with me. Would see him once a month, and he was already very old - basically my age. I put him to sleep before winter struck. I'll never feel bad enough that I wasn't with him during his last days but I'll miss him forever.

I Just Layed My 30 year Old Only Child Brittney Vartanian to rest last Saturday. She was Beautiful on the Outside but More Importantly even More Beautiful on the Inside. We fight to Protect the Remaining Elephants in this World.❤🐘 I will be Spreading some of her Ashes in Cambodia this year when I go Live with the Elephants & Also in India 2023 when I visite the Elephants there. Then her final ashes in Kenya Africa where I just got back from. A School in Kenya has already started Brittneys Books which will have her logo on each Book donated in her Honor. Ive already received post from people that were visiting The School in Kenya & were the firat to Donate to Brittneys Books. Its only been a week sence I laid her to rest. This was suppose to be the Opening Song being played as people walked into the Church. Technical Difficulties prevented that but I have posted it to her FB page with the Story behind it. No Mother should have to lay their Child to rest before them. The pain is overwhelming. I will ALWAYS MISS & LOVE YOU BABY GIRL. This is Always going to be YOUR SONG!🙏❤ Thank You Brandon Flowers for writing the Most Amazing Song Ever🙏

I wonder if Brandon Flowers has ever gone thru really bad times, but he sure knows to write songs that help you cope with your own hardships. I really didn't pay much attention to Battle Born when it came out, but The Killers outdid themselves with this one.

Hardship and pain is not an ordinal nor a quantity. Being human is the act of pain and overcoming. We are born unable to breath, and we leave unable to breath.

This song gives me the strength I need to get through a hard day, week or month. It's weird how listening to it alone makes me feel broken enough to become strong enough again to get through tomorrow. It helps me cry now so I don't have to later. Thank you killers for making such a powerful song that I know has helped so many people, just as it helped me tonight.

I was in a play about a school shooting and we used I found this song looking for music for character work It was absolutely perfect. The play shows how as we get engulfed in fear the personas we took on faded away and we grew closer. Before we went on we all sat in a circle, listened to this song, and said our goodbyes to each character. We all closed our eyes and listened to it. When we opened our eyes we saw that everyone was crying.
