This song could easily have fitted like a plug inside of a plug-hole back in the 80's. I swear Brandon Flowers owns a TIME MACHINE and his obvious love and adoration for 80's music takes him for a cosmic ride back there where he finds some magic dust disguised as something back in those days and teleports himself back into modern time...and goes to work on songs...there's no other way. The songs are all so good. This is my favourite of all of THE KILLERS' songs....10/10.

For me the line that hits like a train is "Back then, this thing was running on momentum, love, and trust. That paradise is buried in the dust." The words alone are heart-wrenching, and the way they've been matched to the perfect vocals at that moment makes the emotion feel so raw

I feel like most of the Killers songs are connected and Brendon is talking about the same girl from Mr. Brightside. It's a really cool concept how he tells the same story in different ways through different songs.
@littlelaughable9 жыл бұрын
+Christopher Riba A lot of people actually feel this way about The Killers. It's canon info that Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf, Midnight Show, and Jenny Was a Friend of Mine are all connected. The three songs are known as the murder trilogy. People speculate Mr. Brightside might be a part of it

Las Vegas is literally a REBELS and HOCKEY town now! Its unbelievable how big Hockey is in the city. You gotta actually live in the city to get a feel how big it is. The Raiders and even a NBA team would never be this big. Could be big for the visitors but it will never have the impact the NHL Knights has had onto the city. It's a massive success story! Ownership did everything right and they continue to do things BIG and the RIGHT WAY!

I moved to Las Vegas just after high school. Some of the first friends I met were in a little town about an hour west of Vegas called Pahrump. I remember the first time I drove out to visit them. The view of the desert was so beautiful. Every shadow cast by every rock and every piece of sagebrush. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was like a little bit of magic. All of Southern Nevada is like a little bit of magic, from where the willows still weep on Charleston Avenue, to somewhere outside the lonely Esmeralda County Line. I'm convinced that this album cover is inspired by the drive back from Pahrump. A drive I've made countless times. Also this is The Killers' best album and it's not even close. If all the haters on Reddit had ever lived in Nevada and had any of their formative memories attached to it, they would see how obvious this is.

First time hearing this track yesterday...got me thinking..."Does Brandon Flowers have a link to Roy Orbison somewhere?"...cause he sounds like him so much in this track...I could hear Roy Orbison doing this or they could have had a pardon the pun...killer duet on this track!.

June 2024 anyone? My mom used to listed to it everyday... now that she passed away and this song just turned up on my youtube timeline...I feel as a signal of her telling me that she is in peace, but I miss her a lot 😞

I drove through the desert last night I carried the weight of our last fight Elvis singing "don't be cruel" And I wonder if you feel it too It's like we're going under Somewhere outside the lonely Esmeralda county line The question of my heart came to my mind If I go on With you by my side Can it be The way it was When we met Did you forget all about those golden nights? Maybe a thief stole your heart Or maybe we just drifted apart I remember driving In my daddy's car to the airfield Blanket on the hood, backs against the windshield Back then this thing was running on momentum, love and trust That paradise is buried in the dust If I go on With you by my side Can it be The way it was When we met Did you forget all about those golden nights? (The way it was) All of our plans have fallen through Sometimes a dream, it don't come true Darling! Darling! If we go on Can it be The way it was When we met Did you forget all about them golden nights? If I go on With you by my side Can it be The way it was My heart is true Girl, it's just you I'm thinking of Can it be the way it was? Maybe a thief stole your heart

@supremetaco53492 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen the views or plays on caution, but damn, caution is such an amazing and underrated song Their song Runaway Horses is also amazing but it's a lot more laid back than most of their songs. I guess that's the modern Brandon now (I don't dislike it though, it's pretty nice)

I can almost never pick favorite songs from any given artist - hands down my favorite. Holds a special place, because it came on as I was driving through the Mojave Desert trying to figure out what the heck to do about a relationship. I took it to be a sign to walk away, and I did - but blasted this song on repeat the entire rest of the drive. Night + desert + this song = out of body experience.

You may say I'm crazy, but I this album was one of their best and it was put together so well and once again they have reinvented themselves sounds like they are taking the plunge through the decades they were obviously in the 80s and the new album based off the new single definitely going through the 70s now!

I love the killers. This record was clearly very influenced by Bruce Springsteen. This song specifically, is very similar to the Springsteen song "The River." Both in lyrics and imagery.

En verdad no entiendo porque dicen que Battle Born es su peor álbum.
@arielislas50318 жыл бұрын
Ha de ser porqué Battle born suena mas a rock alternativo, y en sus discos anteriores tienes la esencia de el rock indie. De igual forma me encanto este disco.
