You're right. Reminds me of that first meeting between him and Robin William's character, Sean. @@crashescripplingdepression8654 He was 24 in the movie. Pretty close to his actual age when it was being filmed two summers ago. There is an HBO making of the King of Staten Island type thing on KZbin if you have not seen it. Yeah, it is what his life might have been like if he had not started doing stand up at 16, and become famous. The mom and sister are based off his real mom and sister. The character has Crohn's just like him, and Borderline Personality Disorder just like him. They don't come right out and say that he has BPD, but his behaviors reflect it. His character is probably not diagnosed.

This is how he deals with it. The dark humor about it, the openness with which he brings it up. It's his grieving process. I've always kinda admired him for it, ngl. My father responded as well, but he made it out. But there was a 48+ hour period where we had zero contact with him and didn't know. Idk what I would have needed to do to cope if he hadn't made it that day.
