Cernunnos, hades, and bits of norse mythology thrown in. This is why hearing about such things is so fascinating 👍🏻👍🏻

Yep, that's typically how religious beliefs have been created (with the influence of other religious beliefs). It typically hasn't been people making up new religions in a vacuum.

@@loki2240Its more likely in this case that they have these similarities because these are all Indo-European Religions and their pantheons and mythologies all descend from one comen Proto-Indoeuropean pantheon.

Would like some more of Slavic mythology, Imo the Greek and Norse mythologies are a bit over done now. Also more Baltic mythology, I’m not sure if I’ve seen some here. But the Baltic mythology is also rich and interesting but very underdone and under appreciated sort of. And overlooked. ✌️

0:00 Wow! So this is Veles alright. 0:27 He is now ruled the spirits in the realm of the dead. 0:53 Cool so this is Peron God of Thunder and lighting. Just like Zeus do. 1:11 Peron and giant serpent are fighting. 👏 Good. Very good story of Veles The King of the Slavic Underworld in Slavic Mythology. Reminds me Hades God of The Underworld do.

Well, I am not sure people in those days knew about the second law of thermodynamics and entropy... They knew some basic things they observed, mostly cyclical, and had their own explanations which usually were such, gods, demigods, creatures of some supernatural order.

I still believe that our Slavic Gods are somehow connected to the Norse pantheon because of so many similarities and lore…

Sounds like an odd mix of Cernunnos and Arawn, but also highlights that there isn't really an equivalent deity in Nordic mythology, unless you count Jormungandr.

Polish? This is Slavic mythology, when Slavic people worshiped these deities, well, I doubt that Poles existed as an ethnicity, maybe in some proto-form... The first real Slavic state was Moravia, the state where St Cyril and Methodius were sent to make a new alphabet, suitable for Slavic tribes in the Eastern Roman Empire, so Poland did not exist until much later. That is Slavic pagan mythology.

In Slavic belieaves the forrests are places were the living and the dead can meet. And whole underworld looked like a swampy forrest.

Olso theres one mistake in the "world three". There is no such a thing in a original slavic myths. There is a giant three, but its not the whole universe. Its a place where gods lived at the top and demons at the roots, but because of eventual viking influences, our pantheon became more norse like.

Who is Veles Norse equivalent, Loki or Freya?
@reinhardt8780
@reinhardt8780 25 күн бұрын
He's normally equated with Loki due to both of them being shapeshifters and tricksters with snake associations, Veles has also ties to Odin who besides his role as King of Gods, which is fulfilled by either Svarog or Perun in Slavic Mythology, is recognized as a trickster, a sorcerer and a god of the Dead and Magic, just like Veles
