I wounder about the Swedish King Fro? Can you tell more about him, does he go under other name. Ragnars grandfather was it Randver or someone else? I think the sorces have to different name/persons. And why did Ragnar go to Norway to revenge his grandfather dead? His father Sigurd Ring was a Swedish (and Danish) King and the King Fro was also a Swedish King. Was the grandfather a Norweigian King. Tanks for your films, very Great composed. Just my brain want to knew more 😅

The Deeds of the Danes only states this about Fro: At this time Fro (Frey?), the King of Sweden, after slaying Siward, the King of the Norwegians, put the wives of Siward's kinsfolk in bonds in a brothel, and delivered them to public outrage. When Ragnar heard of this, he went to Norway to avenge his grandfather. As he came, many of the matrons, who had either suffered insult to their persons or feared imminent peril to their chastity, hastened eagerly to his camp in male attire, declaring that they would prefer death to outrage. Nor did Ragnar, who was to punish this reproach upon the women, scorn to use against the author of the infamy the help of those whose shame he had come to avenge. Among them was Ladgerda, a skilled amazon, who, though a maiden, had the courage of a man, and fought in front among the bravest with her hair loose over her shoulders. All-marvelled at her matchless deeds, for her locks flying down her back betrayed that she was a woman. I don't know what other names King Fro has, but he probably has got others and since (frey) is in brackets its probable that was from the same house as ragnar the Ynglings and was related to the God Freyr. When Ragnar's father Sigurd died, he was the King of Sweden and Denmark. However, Fro usurped his sons Ragnar's throne and took Sweden for himself. All of Ragnar's female relatives were then thrown into a brothel as a sign of disrespect. After this Ragnar goes to Norway to avenge his grandfather, probably because his grandfather was killed by Fro, or because his grandfathers seed (daughters, granddaughters, etc) were placed into a brothel. Thank you so much! I don't like Fro right now 😀. Yes Frej or perhaps the name Frö. I check a list of Swedish saga-King yesterday but couldn't find him. Yngve-Frej was the first in line of the Ynglingaätten, so the time does'nt match. But as you say probebly one in his line. I supose he does'nt been able to find. Anyway thanks again for more information. I really like to listen to your films.

Thank You. I'm "descended" from Ragnar(maybe/not). I have to reexamine my tree, by going forward in time until I have a historically verified ancestor. This is only about 3% of my tree.
