My biggest question throughout the movie was why did Elle feel like she had to include Marco in her bucket list activities? Knowing what happened between them and Noah being understandably unhappy that his girlfriend is still hanging around the person she cheated on him with at the dance competition. @@tiepzz326 Oh, that's simple. Because she's a self-absorbed toxic dumpsterfire of a human who has zero regard for others. She doesn't care how much she hurts Noah by having the guy she cheated with on him around and being so lovey-dovey with him, she doesn't care that she strings along Marco even though she doesn't want him. Heck, she may have strung him along in case Noah breaks up so she has some other man-meat to ride because that seems all she seems to care about. In general, no clue why "comedy" and especially "rom-com" movies always need to have the biggest wastes of human life as protagonists. Just because you're good at playing video game and enjoy playing them doesn't mean video game design is the career for you. It frustrates me that whenever someone likes video games, "make games yourself" is always the next step. No. Its not. It can be, but its not always. Fun fact: tuition at Harvard is actually far less than you cited in your google search, since their financial aid structure is based on a flat percentage of your family's household income - so while their listed price was $71,650 for that year, the majority of students paid far less. Still not something you can afford with a summer of waitress work, of course, and given the lifestyles of the people in these movies, their parents are probably millionaires to begin with.

The guy wasn’t even a good guy. I dropped him as a friend about half way through the school year because he was a bully. I was even trying to tell her “He’s not worth it. He’s not a good guy” but she thought that was me trying to trick her so I could have him 🙄 She made up rumors about me hooking up with a bunch of different guys, but the guys she was mentioning didn’t know who I was and I didn’t know them so those rumors went away quickly, but it still pissed me off. Throughout junior and senior year, I didn’t want to talk to her anymore and I made that very clear to her, but she would always try to act as if nothing happened and she would call me a bully for telling her that I wasn’t her friend. She would try to lock arms with me in the hallway, she would come up behind me and hug me, it got really irritating. It got to the point where whenever I made plans with other friends, I would ask them not to post about it and not to tell her about it because she’d throw a huge fit and call me a bully for not including her. We went to the same college and she would try to do the same things again but since the campus was huge, it was easy to avoid her. I hate the Kissing Booth trilogy because they normalize, make light of, and joke about sexual assault and toxic relationships for both their platonic and romantic sides. I want to be a therapist one day, and when I see movies like these and know how impressionable pre-teens and teens are. It terrifies me that some might believe that this is how friendships and relationships are supposed to be. They'll end up in a cycle of toxicity in their lives they might never escape from. Not to mention how they joke about sexual assault in the movies. It's disgusting and should never be played for laughs. I really do question what Marco and Noah see in Elle because one, she's an awful person, has double standards for everything in her life, and not to mention she is completely selfish. When it came for her dad to find happiness again like it's understandable that she would be skeptical of his new girlfriend and not accept her right away, but to pretty much telling him to not be with her just because she disapproves is crossing a line.

People who would rightfully be offended by movies treating toxic relationships lightly always seem to give romantic comedies a pass. To be fair, a lot of women in my life watch this stuff specifically to laugh at how unrealistic and dated the genre tends to be, similar to how I watch old Disney movies knowing that things don’t wrap up so neatly and happily irl. Notice how I said “women” and not “girls,” though-your concern is still valid for kids whose parents just let them watch TV all day.

Not surprised she acted the way she did towards her Dad's girlfriend, considering how selfish Elle is. Kudos to her dad telling her off, as I mean I'd understand a little kid having that reaction, but Elle should be acting her age (as she's a young woman on her way to college) and not her shoe size. Also props to Noah for not punching Marco, even though I kinda think Marco deserved to be punched. Also wished somebody would have told Lee off on how selfish he is though I guess that is why he and Elle are "best friends" cause their both selfish and entitled brats who need to grow up and/or a dose of reality instead of their everything works out in the end cause its a Teen Rom-com BS.

Still crazy to me that Netflix makes amazing shows like Stranger things and Squid Game, then green lights these movies

Honestly Noah and Marco have more chemistry than Elle and Noah. I’d rather see them make out. They’re giving me rivals to lovers vibes.

It's amusing how Noah becomes slightly likable as the series went on and the other characters got worse

I would've laughed if Elle ended up getting pregnant and it was somehow against the rules to get knocked up by your bestie's brother. Definitely would've been a better conflict tbh.

The „get in the car!“ scene reminded me instantly of the almost exact same scene from the recent series “Maid”. Which obviously was all about domestic/emotional abuse. Well done Netflix - installing decent values in teenagers since day one.😒

Now I'd be interested in seeing a Red, White, and Royal Blue review, if only for Cynical to get a British fix and see Taylor Zakhar Perez in a good rom-com.
