will there be a video on more in depth of what kind of foods vikings would take while hiking or in everyday life??

Probably not the most important thing but I loved that clip of him braiding her hair. Fast and short as it was, it looked almost tender.

...you must make it slower, with plenty of time to view the equipment, perhaps put a written list and discuss options… I do like primitive bushkraft / outdoors and my stuff is not much different from yours (I could not get a sheep or raindeer skin SUN-DRIED…) At least for me, modern stuff is distracting or even dangerous (…modern fibers by the fire…). “Old school” is much more real and interesting, and fun, and really let you go back to your true archaic roots… but I admit this is not for everyone…!!! Stay well…

Very nice video... I wonder though what happens if the heavens decide to open up... Do you carry a tent or the like ? For how many days hiking do you use this particular kit ? Does the sheeps skin (I presume it is for lying on/being insulated from the grounds cold) behave differently as just wool (placed in a "matrass like" bag ??

Beautiful video on Viking hikes! Just wondered about one thing....shoes. On a short hike, you will probably not need an extra pair, but surely on longer trips in rough terrain, you would need several pairs?
@khoatran-pc6tb Жыл бұрын
this! Espeially when shoes of those days didn't have hard soles like shoes nowadays

Neat video, great song. Now a days people complain if they carry a pack that weighs in more then 30 pounds. Our ancestors where alot stronger then most people today. Turns out I maybe of viking stock but from along time in the past.
@EmilReiko6 жыл бұрын
Its not really that they where stronger, they where just used to things being heavier and stuff in life hurting more.
@DarDarBinks19866 жыл бұрын
And our ancestors also lived to the ripe old age of "died in childbirth".

I didn’t see anything that could have been used as a waterproof shelter. Was this video meant to represent a journey of less than a day with known shelter ahead, or would they have made an improvised shelter from whatever natural materials they found?

What the official name for the type of bag used? I can't find the pattern for it now 😣
@KerMegan4 жыл бұрын
i've seen it described as a 'market wallet' no pattern really- a rectangle of cloth, fold the two long sides in to meet in the center, sew across both of the short ends, then stitch up towards the middle, leaving an opening in the center. turn inside out and you are all done.

I See a lack of armor in your videos, is there a reason for this? Is this a ignorant question?
@johan.ohgren6 жыл бұрын
TylerTheTectonic Armor was not for the common man or woman. They might have a shield and helmet but all norsemen were not warriors or raiders.
@tylerthetectonic59276 жыл бұрын
Yes, I like your response, but the video claims to be a viking kit. So wouldn't that mean that all these people in the video would be going on a viking which would include raids?
@johan.ohgren6 жыл бұрын
TylerTheTectonic Even so, only the more experienced and rich vikings would have armor. The more poor people would have to rely on looted armor.
