I would like to offer that the remedy, as radical change is not an inside job, as in some form of meditation where afterwards one's own personal life experience looks like tripping through a primal forest whereas everyone around you is like blisters on concrete. No one I have met seems to have a clue as to how to turn this ship around. Industrialization by its very design is about producing heat. With a population of some eight billion people ravenously consuming the resources of the earth each day, and now with technology, which is basically industry on steroids, we, as a species, are rapidly hitting that point of no return. The remedy, if I may be so bold as to state, is one that only a child could understand. In one word, "Imagination", not fantasy, but imagination applied to crafting fresh purpose-driven solutions that give us cause for hope as antidote to the mindless redundancies that cater as enterprise to our collective greed, addictions and fear.. always followed on the flip side by a bunch of do-good philanthropies and companies pressing for the elusive remedy. No one I have met today has any clue or desire to know what business really is and very few, particularly in the field of finance and investment really care. I could say more and even offer a fresh approach to this very import subject on conflict and its resolution that even Krishnamurti in all his wisdom never considered, but why bother when curiosity and a genuine sense of childlike wonder have long ago raced out the door.
