his first album is one of my favorite albums in all of kpop. wasn’t a big fan of his 2nd and 3rd albums (they’re still good but just not my vibe) but GOD his first album is phenomenal

what captures me the most with popcorn is that as a non korean speaker, on first listen i immediately get what the message of the song is. it's cute, happy, lovey dovey vibes. the tone of the song, his voice, and his acting really represents the song fully and without actually knowing the lyrics, i can already understand it

D.O aura is so pure. Literally. I just opened the video and my whole mood changed and had a smile all throughout the video. Kyungsoo makes us happy. This song feels like a warm hug. Thank you.

I have no idea why but Popcorn really hit me. Favorite song of the year so far for me, and I have no idea why. For everybody else it seems like a fine enough pop song, for me it's emptional perfection.

I love both videos, they have the same director! D.O. has a professional Chef’s license and was a Chef in the military! The whole album is outstanding. 😊😊

This is how the two MVs were recorded and for example the popcorn thing in the elevator failed a few times, only one door opened and I only thought about those who had to pick up all that popcorn and retake over and over again... 😂😂🍿🍿

yes! the whole album is simple as D.O. is a very simple minded yet very meaningful songs. I think its my fave album just a little bit from his 2 past albums. PD please check out Mars with string instruments only (cello was iconic) in IU Pallette. IU and DO also had 2 amazing duets.

Hi thank you for this! Love the insights about the technicalities of the MVs because it's sometimes the most overlooked aspect when it comes to music. Glad you discovered Kyungsoo as a vocalist, man, like please watch his Seasons guestings too the one hosted by AKMU and the one hosted with Zico, and of course IU Palette. Im so happy to learn you watched his Lee Mujin performances too. This album is really so special too, you will love it! Have you seen the highlight video of his second album, Expectation? Always enjoy your insightful deep dive. I definitely get sitcom from Popcorn and movie-like from Mars. Music wise, if you like The View might I suggest listening to About Time from the new album. It’s an otherworldly experience.

TBH although D.O's my fave voice in EXO, I am also not much of a fan of his solo music. I'm leaning more to Chen or actually Suho the most when it comes to solo songs. Buttt I really enjoyed this song at first listen not gonna lie.
