Woosung has confirmed that the members are staying together as The Rose and will be releasing music once their enlistment period ends. He's been focusing on his solo career and released his first solo album Genre last year under his own label (woolfpack). It's more pop-oriented than his work with The Rose but it still has that chill vibe, I really recommend checking it out! It has two mvs (lazy and dimples).

Looking back at this now, and to see where The Rose has come and are now, I am so proud of them for not giving up on their sound, music and identity as a band. This year they've toured the world on a sold-out tour, crowded music festivals and are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Maybe not as much in Korea (given the niche rock bands are in Korea) but internationally they are finally getting seen and honoured for their talent. UGH as a Black Rose that have known them since their busking days I am so proud of them for staying together.

Oh. I thought the other couple was two dudes. That their story was about friendship yk Personally I interpreted the three storylines as three different versions of love basically. The grandfather and the child represent familiar love, the fallen angel guy and the girl romantic love and the other two platonic love, and how, regardless of any situation, the love shown through acceptance, trust and support can help to guide and heal. For the two people separated by the spider webs, since the long haired one is counting days and jumps off a hospital bed like structure, I thought it was about somebody who felt confined, either because of a physical illness or a mental one, or even just as a metaphor, and the other befriends them and helps them break out, sort of? I just assumed their role was about friendship because I associated family and romance with the other two pairs. But it could also just be a second romantic couple I suppose. Still cute. And btw it could be two dudes in that scenario too, not like I wouldn't trust The Rose to actually pull it off and not care about any social criticism they might face. Or maybe it is a guy and a girl and the friendship aspect still applies, who knows. If any of the members said anything about the process regarding the creation of this mv I would be curious to know, some behind the scenes or an interview idc. And Pd is right, that storyline is kept sort of vague, maybe intentionally, so as to give the viewer the chance to interpret the story however they like and seem fit, in their own way. In any case, it is a gorgeous song, gorgeous music video. Maybe it's an end, maybe it's a beginning of a chapter, maybe it's a promise that The Rose always has and will continue to write moving, comforting, heartfelt music. I for one can't wait to see what they're up to next!
@beatricep1032 жыл бұрын
@Yanaína Irrazábal are they?!! Because Pd talks about them being a boy and a girl at 13:28 so it made me question if I did see it correctly 😂

@NomadFlow2 жыл бұрын
"Personally I interpreted the three storylines as three different versions of love basically" Sure but these are clearly some kind of old fables being referenced. The older man and child is CLEARLY Pinocchio. To ignore that and just say it's "familiar love" is to miss the obvious visual cues. So that means the other two stories have to be some kind of old fables that are also referenced but I don't know what they are and so far I've been frustrated that I haven't seen any comments on youtube that have even attempted to answer the question.

I agree 100%. This is just stunning. I love many groups but the Rose has a special place in my heart, they have a unique talent musically to weave a story and draw you into this ethereal world. Their synergy is breathtaking and Woosung-he is a shaman. Meaning he has a command over energy and sound that is so exquisitely powerful. Thank you for your great review. For me, discovering The Rose has been one of the most amazing things that had happened in my life. Honestly they make amazing music, that as you say and something that I feel really represents The Rose's songs is that they transport you. I feel each of their song has a magic and beautiful storie. Thank you so much for your reactions, I enjoy so much hearing to your feedback. Also, I think that one of the couples in the video, is two boys. Or at least that was what I could see. I feel like all the stories are love stories, love to yourself, love to someone else, a friend, a lover, family. It's just so beautiful. I've missed The Rose sooo much. I could listen to their songs all day in repeat and I wouldn't get bored. Thanks The Rose

The Rose is severely underrated. Their talent is incredible and i'm so happy to be able to hear them. This song is amazing and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them
@TrishMilburn2 жыл бұрын
The way I interpreted this was that it was three stories of being in a dark place (the cooler, blue/gray tones in the beginning) but then love helping to bring them out through the literal thorns and briars (the trials that have to be overcome to achieve happiness) to a brighter, happier place (the warmer tones). I think this is done most obviously through the the Beauty and the Beast and Pinocchio storylines, but I think the third could possibly be representing Rapunzel when she was trapped in the tower. I think also that the gender is left ambiguous on purpose, but the actor/actress with the longer hair and marking off the days on the wall is what led me to Rapunzel. And instead of a tower, the cobwebs are perhaps representing how that person is trapped by having to hide who they are from the world. But then the "prince" tears down the wall of cobwebs, extends his hand and leads them into the light. Also, I have to say that The Rose's concert is one of the best I've ever been to, of any type of music. Just a phenomenal show.

The Rose was one of the last live performances I saw at the end of 2019 when they came to London. I know you don’t typically like ballad songs PD but I’m so glad you reacted to this ❤️ THANK YOU!
@formoftherapy2 жыл бұрын
To be fair, I just say I don't like ballads because that's an easier explanation than the more nuanced answer which is that I actually LOVE ballads. But ballads rely on the same instruments, same tone and style song after song which means there is WAY less diversity in the ballad sound. Because of that, I don't like a lot of ballads due to the fact that they tend to be rather "soulless" or extremely commercial. There's nothing wrong with that in music, after all a lot of K-Pop songs are written by other people and not the group, and all title tracks are commercial songs. But I think pop music gets a pass due to the varying types of sounds and experimentation. I just hold ballads to a MUCH higher standard. But I'll say this, there's not a single ballad from THE ROSE that didn't hit. They know what they're doing!

Now that you're reacting to The Rose (and ONEWE back on the release date), I really hope you can check LUCY and FTISLAND's latest release from December. Especially for LUCY, there has been a first EP (August 2020), three single physical releases (Nov '20, Feb' 21, May '21, with at least 2 songs each), a digital single (back in August' 21), a collab with AKMU's Suhyun, and a second EP just last month. I hope you can at least check the title track, Rolling Rolling, publicly. It's a song rich with textures :") FTISLAND's song, Unthinkable, is their first release after all three members finished enlistment! Both FTISLAND and LUCY songs were released in the same date (with unfortunately no music show promotions, sadly...) I hope you can check them out. Thank you very much, PD and Blaire!

I've watched the music video several times since it came out and never doubted that the two people separated by the webs are two men (the one in black is androgynous but you can clearly see his Adam's apple ^^). i think with the cobweb story, the woman is in a dark lonely place in her life where she feels like no one understands her and she’s counting down the days on the wall bc she’s hoping that one day, all her pain will go away. the guy that shows up can see through the webs (her pain) unlike others and actually understands her because maybe he’s going through the same thing or HAS gone thought it before (since he’s on the side that had the light) which shows he can help her get through her problems
