As a working med student, what PD said really resonated with me. Taking 14 subjects this semester has really taken a toll on my mental health and my brain is basically rotting from the stress, lack of sleep, and pressure. I've realized how I failed to appreciate my high school days of little to no worries and responsibilities. The reason why people find it so emotional is because in the chorus, the vocals progress in a way that evokes a heart touching emotion. Notice how in the chorus the first half of Monday's line goes down a note a lower than the second half. From my short time in attempting to play the piano, pianist use this trick to pull at people's heart strings. Not to mention it's followed up with "I'm so good with you", which those lyrics seem very loving. The song writing in this song, particularly the chorus, is phenomenal

This song is like graduation goggles for those who doesn't have a good school experience. When you hated school all your life but when it's your last day of school, everything that you hate just seem beautiful. The feeling of not having to go through your usual routine anymore just makes you feel an emotional roller coaster. This song makes you feel nostalgic because the lingering feeling of longing to be free, to rewind the past, to just enjoy everything without a single burden. This song makes you feel hopeful, dreamy, euphoric, and a beautiful mess. The first listen made me cry as well. What PD said really hits me. Coming from almost a similar background, this song just makes you want to hop on a time travel portal, put on your school uniform and go back to your high school days to just enjoy freedom and the accompany of the people around you.

Oh SHIT the graduation goggles thing is VERY real. I've graduated HS a few months ago and I definitely felt something, especially looking at the pic with majority of the class, smiling and together in the photo. I know I have a whole life ahead of me and it won't be all stress but damn... So your graduation goggles analogy really opened my eyes. Knowing what I know now, I could've been a LOT more carefree and just... Tried harder to talk to other people and make friends, especially looking at it without having to go to another painstaking day at school. It definitely feels weirds and especially bittersweet in that regard.

Also, when I first heard this song, it was right before HS had started and I was finally gonna leave cornteen since February of 2020. Back then, I only felt the song was catchy and I was filled with joy listening to it, so seein such a visceral reaction for others was different from my exper with the song. However... It's only been 3 years and only a few months of HS graduation and I can now understand what peop were feeling. It's bittersweet. Happy yet heart aching, espe since it either reminds you of fun moments but at the same time... The things we could've done differently. I already feel a bit nostalgic for the song because... Yeah, it reminds you of HS

When you talked about your teenage years it sort of made me realize that THAT’s why those are my favorite songs. Songs that sound like that sound like my childhood. @prism2232 жыл бұрын
The reason Soeun's line was very memorable was because it got the perfect setup. The chord progression of the chorus looks like 4 5 1 3 6 5 4 5 3 5 1 The melody doesn't exactly follow that, instead it walks downwards with Monday with a counterpoint from Jihan + Jaehee. Then Soeun's melody starts when it goes back to the 4 chord and follows the 3rd of the 4-5-1 of the repeated chord patterns. Chef's kiss.

PD you're so right about that "i'm so good with you" part I think it strikes even more because that's the first time in the chorus we're getting a drawn out portion of the song rather than the beginning of the chorus where the pacing is like fast. The beginning chorus is all "we'll ride our skateboards and dance and have fun " but the i'm so good with you breaks down more of the emotion afterwards like really realizing that they're enjoying the time with friends and how they're made for one another also the harmonies in that part are subtle but MAKES that part!!!

I know that anything I might say as just another stranger on the internet may not mean much, but I really truly genuinely hope that you are ok and well. And even if you are not ok, then I hope that you can eventually get to that emotional place. Listening to you talk about having to support your entire family, I can see the amount of stress and fear you are feeling. I hope that you have people or things in your life that help alleviate at least some of that stress. Again I know these words probably mean very little and you might not ever see this comment. But still I hope that you can reach a better emotional space for yourself. Thank you for your amazing videos. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I was not paying attention to k-pop when Apink debuted, but I think we might be seeing Play M with another mega-girl group like Apink on their hands. These girls are so cute and talented; there's literally no fault I can find with them. I also love that they are doing cute and happy music that is appropriate for a group that is made up of teenagers. There are so many great parts to this song and this video. I love how they give a shout out to their previous songs. I love the brief shot of Jiyoon pouting because her sparklers went out. Like you, I love the line "I'm so good with you", and they way it is featured by being a legato half-time line in the middle of an up-tempo bop. I love that the high school theme resonates for all ages. I love how the beat restarts at the beginning of the 3rd chorus. And I love that I still can't figure out if they're singing about a friend or a love interest. I am really looking forward to what this talented group of girls will do next.

The analysis of the feeling the song passes is just SO accurate, i was never the most popular or outgoing person in school, i am shy, i had my hardships with bullying, but most of my life i was fading into the background, i was quiet in my own corner with my very few friends, in about 9th grade (i don't know how it works in the US but i hope yall can understand me) all my friends moved on to better places for highschool, and i was one of the few left behind, and i realized... damn i miss them... they were the ones who made my school life not so meserable, the ones who made me laugh, i miss doing art with them, going out to the movies with them, i just miss them so SO much, oh boy i'm getting emotional. The last time we were together in school we didn't have the "future" talk, i feel like we didn't enjoy one anothers presence, we barely talk right now and oh so desperate to go out with them to get back in touch, but i just can't because of the pandemic. So i promissed myself that i was going to ENJOY high school, go out partying, making friends, living a romance, be able to be myself since i can't do it at home with my family, but then... it's been a year since i went to school because of online classes, and i lost the second year of high school, and things don't look so great for this year too, i'm losing my last year in school, i'm feeling so dumb for not learning anything in the last year, everyone has perspective for the future and i'm just stuck in the past with my anxious mind and i have barely any will to live. Man i just don't want it to be over you know? I'll miss my friends, i'll miss schol, i'll miss MYSELF, i'll jus miss it all so much. I don't want to be an adult... i don't think i can even survive adulthood with my mental health. Oh sorry this got so long and depressing. I doubt anyone's even gonna read it all. And also sorry for any flaws in my english. Anyways i just appreciate so much the bubbly and happy childhood feeling this song gives, it makes so hyped and nostalgic for something i've never even experienced, but it also makes me a little emotional and depressed, i don't know this was a ride, sorry for the long rant, i just needed to vent.

i’m so sorry. you totally don’t deserve to feel that way! i’m in high school and i also feel like i never had a lot of experiences like this. but that’s ok, i’m still hopeful for the future because things are always able to get better. hang in there, i’m supporting you my friend

i know how you feel. but adulthood isn't all bad. you will have opportunities to make new friends, and you will have moments of joy that are worth feeling nostalgic about. you'll have to work hard to clear your schedule and get people together for those moments, but it's possible. i think the things about high school that make it easier to have those moments (aside from a teenaged brain) are the fact that you're crowded together with a bunch of people who have basically the same schedule as you. making friends can be hard anywhere, but just getting to know people and figuring out when and where to spend time together is easiest in high school. that doesn't make it impossible to make moments as an adult though. you have to live your life with the intention of making friends and you have to do the legwork of figuring out how everybody's schedules can work so that you can be together, but you can do it. it sounds easier said than done i guess, but i just want you to know that there's hope. it's no guarantee, but there is a beautiful world out there, it is still alive against all odds, and you are not alone in it. you will have a chance to feel happiness. i have REALLY bad depression (and a bunch of other mental issues), but even i've had my chance to enjoy life as an adult. be brave and keep an open heart

No, bro this is exactly me. :( I'm 17 turning 18 soon, and I was in a lot of toxic friend groups throughout high school. I felt so lost and confused and always wondered why I was being so used even though I put my heart and soul out to my friends. But, I finally found a lovely group of people that really made me feel safe and happy. COVID hit and I'm graduating soon, and just-. Once again, once I'm happy, it's always taken away from me. :( I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to feel down and negative, but I understand you and I am with you. :) I believe things will get better, please hang on.

the way this resonate with me what PD talked about is that no matter how hard school/university being a teenager in general is IT IS ok to some degree to F... up, because once your grown up and the sht ton of responsibilities fall on you like a mountain 1 mistake can mean the end and the pressure of that alone is crazy, This song somehow tells you that things are gonna be alright eventually

I’ll say this since many are mentioning ava Max’s song. As far as I know “So am I” is like a mashup of these three songs 1. Something to dance for” by Zendaya 2. “Primadonna” by marina and the diamonds 3. “Feel this moment” by pitbull & Christina Aguilera. I highly recommend everyone to check these songs out, I was moved to tears when I heard the chorus of “after school” so nostalgic!
