The most unique thing about XG is that they don't release B sides. Their songs are all title track worthy. Most groups usually load their albums with throw-away, half-baked tracks and one quality song as the title track. Not XG.

Yeah, it's amazing! It feels like Simon won't allow stuff that is just "okay", it must be something really good. It's even crazier that I don't even listen to this type genre that much but IYKYK is in my top 2 or 3 songs of the year, just behind Woke Up.

For me it's the complete opposite lol, with most of the groups I love I tend to often not particularly like the title track, and the crazy hidden gem bangers are always in the b-sides. NGL though despite me loving IYKYK, I'd love for XG to start having actual EPs with b-sides because they are not gonna miss anyway, and it'd allow them to explore more genres, for example I wish they'd release more stuff similiar to Left Right and having b-sides would allow them to drop more stage/dance focused songs like this as title track and keep the rest of the good stuff for the b-sides.

Shooting star is still undefeated for me because it’s got a super special spark to it, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t phenomenal. Definitely in my Top 10 this year and a real contender for top spot of 2024 on my own lists. I’d pick this over Something Ain’t Right personally but that’s just my personal preference. I also appreciate the willingness of XG and their company to go weird and zany with their visuals. They’re one of the few groups that I feel like is willing to ignore what is considered “pretty” and push the envelope to stay interesting and fresh.

i was unable to go see them live last monday because it was a family member's birthday. it makes me extremely sad because i would have loved to see this performed. xg is such a beautiful group both on stage and off. i love in the music video for this the shots of them turning with their hair blowing syncing up with that twinkling piano sample and THE ONE NEAR THE END OF THE VIDEO WHERE ITS THE SHOT OF THE WIND BLOWING THROUGH THE LEAVES AND IT'S SYNCED UP TO THAT SAMPLE AGAIN. So it pretty clear to me that the Editors used AI im some key places to get some of the transitions and images that we get, its how it feels so smooth and almost seamless but its also what gives it this almost ethereal/Alien vibe as well which works with thier concept SO WELL! In my opinion this is how you should use AI in art, as one tool of many different kinds to help create art not as the sole tool, it can only get you so far and can only do so much and thats not even touching on the fact that a lot of art AI databases that they are trained on are full of stolen content but that is mainly focused to the average consumer. AI that is used for editing and things like this are usually trained on very specific footage and images that are created by others specifically for this MV. So thier creative team came up with all of these designs for the sets(both RL and Digital) and the CG aliens then AI is trained on the art made, the CG model and all the footage that was shot and that allows them to do some really crazy looking transitions and give it that alien vibe. I just love the whole XGALX team, they are so good at what they do and find the best people to work with and they take care of our girls so well ♥

The Instagram live video featuring AVEX's chairman was a misunderstanding, and we do not support the chairman, just like many other K-pop chairmen. Also, why are you being so hard on this group when there are many things happening in Korea right now? XG and their producers are working really hard. Many of the people credited are Koreans and Japanese working together. Why does AVEX even matter? There's no perfect chairman in the industry. Even some K-pop chairmen do bad things, but you didn't even point that out. When XG didn't release a top-tier music video and songs, you didn't even acknowledge them, but now they're doing something not only for the industry but for both countries. Like it or not, Simon is trying to bridge Japan, Korea, and other Asian countries in this industry to showcase to the West that Asia has that impact too. Also, XG is not the only one promoting in Korea. Other Western people, Global groups and other K-pop bands also promote in Japan. They call themselves X-POP because their genre is not fixed in one culture or geopolitical standpoint. It's much more disrespectful for them to call themselves K-pop or J-pop while singing in ENGLISH. Stop the hate, stop the politics. Appreciate the hard work of multiple nationalities. K-pop has borrowed a lot of elements from the West and the idol system in Japan too. And now, Japan is taking notes on how Korean idols work within the system. See that? Everyone is just a student in the industry. No one's perfect, yet everyone is united in one thing: "MUSIC." If you don't like XG, then just don't watch it and skip the video. It's so easy, though. Check out their music videos. They incorporate Korean and Japanese cultures in their lyrics, such as "Sayonara (IYKYK)" and "Unnie (Woke Up)." They also include symbols, clothing, and tourist spots from these cultures. Whether you like it or not, this group is doing something not only for Korea and Japan, but for all of Asia by implementing subculture, symbols, and superstitions. "If you don't like the Chairman, then go ahead, no one is stopping you. We don't like him either, so we agree on that. But hating on these girls or these small labels just because some braindead CEO is yapping something is a different story. If that's the case too, then can we also hate the groups in other companies like HYBE, YG, SM, etc., because some of the leadership of these companies are problematic too?"
