XG is paying homage to the great Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli and his iconic influence on Japanese art, design and culture. Of course there are also nods to MJ, American football and Hunger Games

Their concepts feel so natural and why they "embody" so well is not because they are "educated" the girls recently have talked about that they come up with ideas of what they want to try and sound next, they literally are part of their creative vision, you can see even in their personal fashion how their creative teams are inspired by their daily style and incorporate in their artistry... Why it hits so hard and works so well with them ? Because everything we see comes from a genuine place, you can tell Cho gi-seok (the director of this MV) loves working with them he absolutely goes beyond every expectation and serves justice to the vision... Absolutely in AWE with this MV 👏👏👏👏

I absolutely agree with everything you had to say PD especially after your first watch through. XG, XGALX, and Simon have such a clear identity to everything they do. And when you said this isn’t just some concept for them I feel like any genre or “concept” they take on XG makes it their own. HOWLING really utilizes everything they can do. Initially after my first watch I got the impression that XG is a force as powerful if not more than nature itself. PD your reactions are really one of my favorites. I do think XG main schtick of galactical wolves have transcended the term concept and has arrived into cultural identity. In an industry overtly saturated with different concepts that change every single comeback, XG's narrative as well as their message remains consistent. At some point it stopped being a concept, but an identity that people can get behind. I do agree, this song is definitely one of their best, sonically and visually. As a listener, I do prefer their more chill out stuff, but this song rallies the fandom like no other. I'm just excited to see what's in store for us in the future.

This not just feel like xg‘s war cry. But the war cry of nature. Them being portrayed as wolves, animals which are close to nature and gods in many countries old stories. Hinata looking like a god of the forest. The shot where the skyscrapers were enclosed by plants. It just feels like they are trying to portray themselves as natures warriors who are trying to save nature itself and go to war for that. Japanese generally being very respectful about the nature around them also fits that. It just gave me a feeling of wanting to fight for nature and XG

I looked at the members as ALL being on the attack, but the rap line are essentially shock troops, they put boots on the ground and get physical. The vocal line do also attack, but they're more like attacks from the air, attacking much larger areas. And when they've cleared the planet of opposition, they all have the power of renewal/rebuilding, since I'm pretty sure that's Maya at the end that spreads all the nature? And we get Chisa with the flower gun, too, so they're definitely all capable, I'd say. XG basically seem like some sort of galactic liberation force lol Perhaps even... conquerors? ;)
