Female filmmaker here! I completely agree with you about the male-dominance in the film world, including animation, writing, etc. I took a filmmaking course at an art school 2 summers ago and it was the only course with more boys than girls. Because we as a society are so influenced by media, women need to get their noses into it more. We need to represent ourselves and show what amazing things we are capable of creating!

Having loads of fun watching your videos and don't let trolls get through to you... you are a wonderful person and that's what matters. Those trolls are the ones that when they see a women with a vneck on youtube they watch 500 videos of her, but when a woman is talking great and not being "oh look at me" they attack.. again great videos, keep them coming :)

I love what you said about women making exclusively women communities... I think if we want women to be taken more seriously on the internet we need to find way not only to have our voices taken seriously by our female peers but to make sure men hear our voices too... I just can't see many men going to wonderly to find new content creators to watch so it means loads of these fab vloggers might not be reaching a male audience which is just sad really.

Funny thing about trolls, Emily. They seem to hate anything with an intelligent opinion including aspiring women, and they also have racist tendencies. Trolls are only a reflection of people's unbecoming habits. I fear my own thoughtful work as a writer will be victim to superficial real life trolls.

This was nice. I found I'm subscribed to more women than men on KZbin, by about a 7:3 margin. I don't think about it so much until it's brought up in videos and surveys like yours, but I wouldn't change a thing. Your videos are always interesting; you are super intelligent.
