For a country to be the "Giant of Africa" as Nigeria and her people so proclaim, I think it needs to tick the most basic boxes like modern/proper infrastructure, multiple safe and modern modes of transportation, good roads, an above average standard of living and overall leader in how an African country is supposed to look. And for the noise they make I don't see it, its a beautiful country in some areas much like any other country but its nowhere near what the people of Nigeria claim it to be, it pales in comparison to Egypt(with its own problems), Morroco, Botswana and South Africa etc. It might be the giant of west africa but the continent as a whole has some really big and powerful countries that are setting the standard.

Please inform the Lagos State to clean the platform and the environment around the stations before the official opening date. I noticed each coach has only two entrances, this makes it difficult for the evacuation of the people in case of emergency situations. Congratulations to the Lagos State Government for this intensive money gulping project. In Canada, the Government of Canada, the Provincial Government and the local government contributed to the success of subways in the country. Lagos Government has big “Balls” to take huge projects like this. Congratulations. Thank You.
@Lajand1122 ай бұрын
That's not entirely true. Every govt has their own infrastructures. For example, the TTC is owned by the city of Toronto, while the GO train is by the provincial govt while the VIA Rail is by the govt of Canada. The interconnectivity Rail tracks are mostly owned by the CN Rail which is owned by the govt of Canada. In the same vein, the red line runs on the tracks owned by the NRC, which is owned by the federal govt. The blue line is solely owned by the Lagos state govt and so will be the green and other lines. In Nigeria, the only city that can afford railway lines are far and few in between and the same is applicable all over the world.

Oga press mute. No fence, no camera, no security and the Lagos Ibadan train has been operating for over three years on the same track. Sometimes you should filter the things you say before saying them. Why do you think there is testing phase before commercial operation? You just think because Nigerians are doing it they can't do it well? The blue line has been operating for a year and all these things you mentioned were in place before the commencement of operation. The fencing has been going before you even mentioned it and the tracks in Lagos have been safe for as long has there have been trains in Lagos. Even the narrow gauge is still in operation and that's because there is little or minimum valdalism on the track. Since the Lagos Ibadan train started there has been no report of vandalism. Next time when you want to comment you shouldn't do it ignorantly. If others who have no idea about the train see your comment do you know the image you're painting in their head?

Anyways maintenance is the key not that the next governor will sell them and scatter the project. Because our biggest problem is continuity in governance.
