Yeah this is crazy. The Lakers actually have quite a deep team. Their main problem is that when Lebron plays they are only 4 men on defense and their offense stutters at times because teams know how to stop all the stuff that he initiates because it is pretty obvious by now... Every time he does not play, you can see how the team instantly is more fun to watch and they are just way more unpredictable and free in their offense. And their rotations and switches on defense simply work better because people do move, instead of having to always skip over Lebron who does not really do much of that.

One thing will always be there for the Lakers. Another big discrepancy in free throws during this game. What's worse, the Bucks are second in free throw advantage for this season. I think the number was +222 for the Bucks, the Lakers have over +420 when it comes to taking more free throws than the other team. That's insane. That's really all you need to know about how much of an advantage they have before they even start the game.

One thing people get wrong all the time…there is no substitute for being able to score on all 4-5 levels. Lebron James isn’t a threat in the midrange game. Can he ocassionally hit a midrange shot? Of course…but the great offensive players have a deep bag to go to offensively. Lebron doesn’t have that bag. He has drive right to the basket, shoot a 3, drive left and fade/pull-up. He isn’t polished with his scoring. There isn’t the same consistency with his footwork and balance on his jump shots. The shot looks different often times. The Kobe’s MJ’s or even the next tier down of guys like Kawhi Leonard, James Harden etc shoot the same shot (more or less) regardless of make or miss. Lebron doesn’t. He’s mostly gross motor control with not so refined fine motor control.

I am a Bulls fan and a Michael Jordan fan who is old enough to remember the 1990's Bulls really well. I would like to compare my mindset back then to that of the modern day Lakers/LeBron fans. In the 1996-97 NBA season the Bulls were 69-11 with 2 games left. I just knew the Bulls would win one of those last 2 games and finish 70-12 and have back to back 70 win seasons. Well they ended up losing those last 2 games to the Heat, and Knicks and they finished the season 69-13. Now granted Dennis Rodman and Toni Kukoc sat out the last several games of that season due to injuries so the Bulls weren't at full strength, but I didn't care! I was so angry at them for losing and not winning 70 games again that I said I was not even going to watch the Playoffs because the Bulls will probably just lose anyway. Even though they were 69-13 and the #1 seed in the playoffs. And even though Rodman and Kukoc were supposed to be coming back for the playoffs. I said the way their playing they will probably just lose anyway so I am not watching! I know that sounds ridiculous right. But I was so used to the Bulls winning that I held them to the highest standard and was pissed when they didn't live up to it. Now after about a day I cleared all the junk out of my mind and came to my senses I said what the hell am I thinking! Their 69-13 with homecourt throughout the playoffs! They even have Rodman and Kukoc set to return so they have a great chance to go win back to back championships and win a 5th championship in the last 7 seasons. So I watched and although it was tougher than the year before they did win that 5th championship and I was okay I guess. Now when I think of the modern day LeBron James lakers. I just have to scratch my head because they have been so inconsistent all year and actually needed help just to finish in the 8th seed. And going in to the play in as the 8th seed these LeBron James/Lakers fans are talking NBA Championship! I even heard someone say that LeBron has activated GOAT mode! When I observe this I think Holy Shit! these people hold LeBron and the Lakers to a far lower standard than I held MJ and the Bulls too! They accept mediocrity as greatness. That just shows the difference between the mindset of Jordan fans and the modern day LeBron fans. BTW the way if MJ and the Bulls had finished as the 8th seed in the east back in the 1990's rest assured I would not have been talking Championship Bullshit! I probably really would have boycotted the playoffs.

To your point about pro athletes not willing or not even expected to sacrifice their bodies at all, I’m a Bulls fan. When DRose went out with his plethora of injuries I was as shocked and disappointed as any other Bulls fan. However he stated that his reason for not coming back when it was reported that he was physically able was that he didn’t want to risk not being able to walk his kids down the aisle when he was older. He was making over $ 20,000,000 a year PLLUS A $100,000,000 Nike contract he had just signed. Well damn. I’d limp down the aisle for that kind of money. Sorry, he’s an icon, but that’s how I felt.

Hey AOH, Kevin Wildes made this point on FTF to Nick's chagrin. Nick was disgusted as he insinuated the Lakers were better without LeBron. icymi

Based on the fact that they play like a winning team when he's loafing at courtside, it's more accurate to say *he's* holding the *Lakers* back.

Remember…LEBUM had TWO CURRENT ALL START & still LOST to… DALLAS. They then blamed the other 2 all stars, who had better STATS. STATS don’t matter sometimes.

As far as I know there was a game check for the mvp of allstar game. And then other cash prizes for the lesser events. 25,000 was grand prize for one Jordan won but I cant remember the year. There are mvps that have stories of giving that check out to their team, splitting it w the allstars, or asking their team to match it for a donation. But they werent all compensated

It is a LeBron lead team. He helps Lakers and pulls them down like a lead weight.

The Lakers are better without Lebron than they are with him.
