Hey Fudj! I've been liking this series. Would you consider putting some "constraints" on the type of games you and your opponent design per episode? For example, maybe both of you need to design a sports game, or a game with dogs, etc. I think it'd be fun if both games fit into the same theme (more of a one-to-one comparison for competition), and I personally think that setting constraints is great for creativity. Although I do like the unbridled creativity/cursed ideas that come right out of your mind. Either way, looking forward to the next episode!!

Now here's a thought: If the Muppet RPG became a reality, and bosses always scaled 30 levels above the highest level party member, would that make the ideal speedrun one where you gain as little exp as possible prior to hitting the next boss so you theoretically minimize grinding?

Space astronaut's idea was actually great as a concept. Legitimately a banger I want to play Gameplay wise Fudjs games seems awful however the fact that the muppets will be made as an octopath like sounds absolutely hilarious 😂

Y'know, the first half of Captain Astronaut's game pitch kind of exists, in a more interesting format, obviously. Look up "City Shrouded In Shadow" for PS4. A game by the people who made Disaster Report, except instead of surviving natural disasters, you're literally a normal citizen forced to survive existing in a city where kaiju and super sentai are fighting.

This one is super hard for me to pick and shoutouts to both chaps. I’m gonna judge purely off concept personally. -Fudj’s is more funny to me conceptually, Square Enix totally COULD sap the charisma out of the muppets and slam-a-jam them into a jrpg, as someone who has purely passively observed both of these games through fan discourse and youtube videos (Yes I am one of those people please forgive me) Final Fantasy Origins was an amazingly corny, hammy, but entirely confident and bold story, I love it like 95% unironically, while kingdom hearts 3’s story for the most part saps the soul out of my body. They could make the muppets rpg, and while Ik fudj hasn’t SUPER confirmed that square would be the one to make it, but there’s nods to their games, and kingdom hearts was the #1 thing that came to my mind really. While they COULD capture the essence and fun of the muppets and contrast it with a jrpg setting beautifully, they can also royally f it up. - On the other hand, Captain Astronaut’s proposal is honestly depressing in how scarily accurate it could be. The battlepass that doesn’t give you anything exciting, the never ending mundane questlines, the continued trend chasing to super hero media. Of course no company would want to make a game about the delivery guy of all things, but perhaps the creative bankrupcy of western developers is catching up with them and they had to come up with SOMETHING

You got my vote Fudj, it's like a combination of that asset flip Pop-Eye game that came out a while ago and Yugioh Duelists of the Roses where for some fuckin reason all cast are renamed to represent Tudor characters and plays nothing like Yugioh. Astronauts one sounds frustrating but asymmetrical games are still about and those games where you just do mundane things like Papers Please do have an audience

I am catching onto a potential flaw in this series, and it's mostly that these games, while intentionally bad, are at least interesting. Besides some outlier AAA and a handful of indie gems, there's not that much out there that's trying to do something different. For all the flak Death Stranding got, it tried to do something different, and I think that's why I kind of love all of these ideas so far. Giraffe escaping a zoo, where you may have to wait 20 hours until the guard's SO breaks up with them to slip by? SOLD. A fighting game where characters are all nobodies from twitter and they get removed when too popular? SOLD. A package delivery game set in a never ending superhero battle? SOLD. Even the muppets, I mean, I don't like muppets or JRPGs, but still, that isn't something that we're likely ever going to see, which makes it more interesting than many currently existing games. Maybe next time we just need someone to pitch a super original idea of a shooting game where you have a skill tree and can purchase micros transactions to speed up leveling or something.

CA's game would totally prompt more commentary about the exploitation of workers from those looking to catch relevancy, then within a month (or the next hyped-up release, whichever comes first) all discussion apart from those who actually gave a damn would completely disappear.
