The Landing School Wooden Boats - The Acorn Skiff and Joel White Peapod

Maine has a wonderful boat building history that is captured in each of these boats. Built by Wooden Boat Building students at The Landing School, each boat is built entirely by hand, right down to the steam-bent planks and hand-milled masts.
The Small Boat option within the Wooden Boat Building Program instructs students in the construction of both traditional and modern boats using wood as the principal material. The curriculum prepares students to work with traditional or modern vessels. A graduate can assume a career as a boat builder, boat repairer, boat restoration professional, joiner or finishworker.

I bought a Doug Hylan Beach Pea from The Landing School in late 1997 and it is now as then, gorgeous. I am currently repainting the interior for the first time since she was built and frankly, much of the paint just needs a light sanding and spot-priming. The exterior was repainted over the last two years and this year the varnish gets a complete refinish. After over 16 years outside with admittedly less cover than it should have had, it has held up beautifully. As part of refinishing, I also removed the brass nameplate on the centerboard trunk and noted it was signed by the classmember craftsmen who built it. I met with them not only two weeks before she was completed, but on her launch day, Dec. 17, 1997. If anyone enjoys wooden boats and wants a first-class one, I highly recommend speaking to the folks at the Landing School. It was an unforgettable experience.

looking for a boat that can take a Balanaced lug sail and be rowed off the shores of PEI Canada. Around 17' long and very seaworthy , not too light as I had a 14' white hull and it was like sitting in a leaf on top of the water when the wind came up. Do you make such a boat and what would be the cost.
