Andrea, thank you so much for posting the video at Bronner's! My family is originally from Bay City, Michigan & my Dad knew Wally when he was young. Many years later when my family visited Frankenmuth Wally gave our family the red carpet tour at the store & made us feel so special. He was the most humble, giving & kind man! Every day he either wore a green or red blazer to work. So glad to see the spirit hasn't changed. There is a photo of Wally in your first clip when you walk into the store, as you pan high towards the ceiling. Fond memories! Thank you again for sharing!

I lived in Michigan for 20 years. Raised our son and daughter there. Son is age 49 and daughter is age 42. Bronners use to be much smaller. Then about 25 years or so they enlarged the store. They are even busy in the summer.

OMGosh! Those ice skates you came home w/in the end that were on your coffee table are just! the best! They were SO old!
@nancyparmelee4161
@nancyparmelee4161 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think they are that old. I had a pair of them as a kid in the 50s. They are quite easy to find. I just turned 70 so maybe that’s old for some people but they were still selling them in the 80s when my kids were little . They are the worst things to put on kids learning to skate because they just slide around and never teach kids how to use the edge of a blade. The really coveted old skates are the single blade strap on skates from Victorian times. They are harder to find and more expensive, but all old skates make great winter decor items. It’s so sad that I never see kids on ponds or lakes anymore skating. When my kids were young and when I was growing up it was the first thing we did after school when we got home. Grab our skates and walk to the pond to meet our friends, sometimes bringing our own shovels if our town hadn’t cleared it yet. We stayed till almost dark and walked home together for supper.

Would have loved to be in that Antique shop, great finds. Bravo for taking your children. As my love for all things old and Antique, I took my boys with me at a young age as well, let them look and with a watchful eye " touch" and they learned to appreciate these items that are not massed produced. Hence as Adults they have collections of their own. So thanks for the tour! I am a fairly new follower to your channel, but love your Family dynamic. Boys rule! Merry Christmas🎁🎄🎅

It’s been too long since I’ve been to Frankenmuth! But it is always crowded this time of year. I’ve been thinking of going during the week since I’m retired, but THIS close to Christmas I’m sure weekdays are crowded too. My favorite time to go is in Jan or Feb. They don’t have as many after Christmas sales as some stores since they’re Christmas year round, but I’ve sometimes found a few bargains. The other favorite time to go to avoid crowds is in the spring just after the temperature starts to warm up. People just don’t think about going then. I’ll have to look for antique stores when I go! Rau’s Country Store is a favorite store of mine besides Bronner’s and the two main restaurants with all their shops.

A number of things you were looking at in the antique store, we're not antique. I've been watching some shows where people take brand new wood and carve handles to look pre-dawn , etc and/or 1800"s put a number of coats of stain on them, hit chains on them and wellah...an antique.....be careful....they do it with frames, paintings, cutting boards , rocking chairs, etc. I"m 78.....and have been in many antique stores.... believe be careful

@ Mary O’Leary Yes, it’s contagious, but no deaths with this variant, even in Africa where it started. My family and I have it now. It’s not fun but not as bad as other colds I’ve had. No sense trying to protect ourselves from a bad cold. No need being fearful. Trust the Lord. He made us to have incredible immune systems. Let’s all get this (unless you have serious medical issues) and get it over with once and for all!
